BANGKOK, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Thailand’s public health ministry reported seven new cases of the coronavirus on Saturday, including three Thais and four Chinese.
The new cases brought the total reported in the country to 32, among the world’s highest number of infections outside of China.

Thailand is due for a good beating. I fear the worst.
Well, they've been sucking so much Chink dick it's scarcely surprising the infection is spreading.
Are Chinese still negotiating the northern land border freely in their cars and buses?
Are Chinese still gaining admission freely by air and sea?
In addition to the American who died from the coronavirus in China, a Japanese man has also passed away. A snip from The Guardian...
A Japanese man taken to hospital with pneumonia in Wuhan died after suffering flu-like symptoms consistent with the new coronavirus, Japan’s foreign ministry said. The man in his sixties was suspected of having been infected with the coronavirus but due to difficulties in diagnosing the disease the cause of death was given as viral pneumonia, the ministry said citing Chinese medical authorities.
Great.
Lots of reports coming out of China that the mortality rate is well above 2%, but the hospitals are not writing the cause of death as Coronavirus, as above. We won't know the actual mortality rate for a long time, maybe years.
The Japanese cruise ship situation will be a good test case because we're likely to see the truth of recovery/mortality rate in a situation where people are getting good healthcare. But, the 30+ people so far identified with the virus is quite a small sample.

They really should stop calling these isolation camps "hospitals".

Mainland China had its deadliest day in the coronavirus outbreak Friday, with authorities reporting 86 fatalities from the pneumonia-like illness that is paralyzing much of the country.
A total of 722 people had died from the virus and 34,546 were infected in mainland China by the end of Friday, China's National Health Commission said. The majority of new cases were recorded in Hubei province and its capital, Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak. Authorities finished construction on a new hospital in Wuhan last week, and another is due to open in the coming days to treat the growing number of patients.

Somehow I have a feeling that these next days are going to be even more deadly.

The British epidemic expert Jeremy Farrar believes that a vaccine against the coronavirus 2019-nCoV will come too late to prevent the global spread of the disease. "And if we are unlucky, it will never succeed," says Farrar in the SPIEGEL interview.
The director of the Wellcome Trust, one of the world's largest medical research foundations, believes it is possible that this new virus will not go away after a few months like the previous SARS lung disease, but will remain a constant threat like the flu.Farrar doubts that residents of western metropolises such as Munich or Paris would tolerate a week-long shutdown of their cities like in China in the event of a pandemic. Such restrictions on civil rights "could create a highly explosive situation," said the doctor. The corona virus spreads much faster than the previous lung disease SARS, with which it is related. Already after a few weeks, the corona virus has infected more people in the world and killed more people in China than SARS in nine months. Nightmarish conditions prevail in Wuhan and increasingly in other parts of China. The hospitals are overcrowded, doctors and nurses are working at the limit. They risk their lives to help the patients. We are also indebted to them.
PARIS: Five British nationals including a child have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in France, after staying in the same ski chalet and coming into contact with a person who had been in Singapore, Health Minister Agnes Buzyn said on Saturday (Feb 8).
The total number of people infected with the virus in France has now reached 11.
Buzyn said the group of people newly infected with the virus were not in a serious condition.
They had formed "a cluster, a grouping around one original case" after staying in the same chalet, in the Contamine Montjoie resort in Savoie in eastern France.

World Health Organisation fears new 'Disease X' could cause a global pandemic
'History tells us that it is likely the next big outbreak will be something we have not seen before'

The World Health Organisation has added a mysterious “Disease X” to a list of viruses it fears could cause a global pandemic in the future.
The organisation released a list of diseases it considers pose a high risk to the public due to their potential to spark an epidemic and the limited treatment available to combat them.
Virus such as Ebola, Zika, Lassa fever and severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars), which have all seen outbreaks in recent years are included as serious threats.
However, the WHO has included the ominous-sounding Disease X to its priority list for the first time this year after a review by health experts in February.
Disease X is in fact not a newly-discovered threat in itself, but a hypothetical virus, which could emerge in the future and cause widespread infection across the globe.
“Disease X represents the knowledge that a serious international epidemic could be caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease”, the WHO said in a statement.
It added healthcare officials were planning for a currently unidentified threat now to ensure: “research and development preparedness that is relevant for an unknown Disease X as far as possible.”
“History tells us that it is likely the next big outbreak will be something we have not seen before”, John-Arne Rottingen, chief executive of the Research Council of Norway and a scientific adviser to the WHO committee told The Telegraph.
“It may seem strange to be adding an ‘X’ but the point is to make sure we prepare and plan flexibly in terms of vaccines and diagnostic tests.
“We want to see ‘plug and play’ platforms developed which will work for any, or a wide number of diseases; systems that will allow us to create countermeasures at speed.”

Where are DoDo and Klondyke? Have they not seen the latest Russian scoop on how the коронавирус was invented by Donald Trump and planted in China and only affects Asian people and is an ethnic cleansing bioweapon?
Coronavirus: Russian media hint at US conspiracy
The coronavirus outbreak in China has provided fertile ground for conspiracy theories and misinformation on the web everywhere, but in Russia they are being spread on primetime news programmes.
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2020/02/167.jpg
Russian TV is also unique in having a consistent overall thrust: that shadowy Western elites and especially the US are somehow ultimately to blame.
One of main national TV networks, Channel One, has even launched a regular slot devoted to coronavirus conspiracy theories on its main evening news programme, Vremya ("Time").
The style of the reporting is ambiguous, appearing to debunk the theories while leaving viewers with the impression that they contain a kernel of truth.
One of the wilder ideas aired by Vremya recently is that the presence of the word "corona", which means crown in both Latin and Russian, in the word coronavirus hints that Donald Trump is somehow involved.
Apparently, this is because he used to preside over beauty pageants, handing the winners their crowns.
In fact, scientists named the virus because of of its crown-like shape, but Vremya's presenter warns against rejecting the idea all too soon.
"Utter nonsense, you'll say, and I'd agree with you, if it were not for what's in our correspondent's report," he says.
'Ethnic bioweapon'
The subsequent video does admit the crown theory is a "strange construct", but uncritically presents an expert who says that the Chinese coronavirus strain has been artificially created, and that US intelligence agencies or American pharmaceutical companies are behind it.
The report also rehashes old, false claims by Kremlin media and officials that the US ran a laboratory in Georgia where it tested a biological weapon on humans.
The Channel One correspondent then quotes online conspiracy theories that the novel coronavirus strain affects only Asians and could be some kind of "ethnic bioweapon".

Does it mean 'ceiling'? I'm looking up now and that's all I can see. :/
Though maybe I'll come back and edit this after 20 minutes of thinking time once I figure it out. :)
