Personally, I don't get why anyone would wan't to come up with the idea that Sweden are doing so great.
One theory is that people are incapable of differentiating between health and economy outcomes. It's as if they believe that just because they might save their economy, they have less infected and dead people as a result. They don't. In almost every way you choose to twist the numbers, Sweden are at the tragic end of the scale in terms of health outcome. Not the other way around. Fact.

And yes, Internet Einsteins, there are less deaths in Sweden than in the UK.

But looking at deaths per million population, Sweden ranks as #10 out of 212 nations and territories monitored by WHO. Using that stat, there are 202 nations doing better than Sweden.

Yes, interesting read. Read an article from a doctor here in Germany that reports similar. Goes something like this:

We are still learning a lot of new things, even more experienced doctors are always surprised. There are first scientific publications that
want to classify the lung failure in the case of a Covid 19 disease as a completely new category, because the process is different and partly
is much heavier. Specific therapy is necessary. We can now classify subtypes among the Covid 19 sufferers. There is
the L-type, this is a patient who hardly feels shortness of breath but has poor oxygen levels. The lungs are well ventilated, their blood flow is good
but already so disturbed that the blood is no longer so well enriched with oxygen. This is almost Covid-specific for pneumonia
and was completely surprising for us at the beginning. In the later course the disease can progress to the so-called H type,
then the patient feels really bad, the cell damage in the lungs gets worse and water collects
in it. Intensive medical treatment with ventilation may be necessary. We only have this whole knowledge in the last few years
Weeks won, in January there was no such thing. It was viral pneumonia for many.

So, to suggest that Swedens R-number is <1 is exactly that, total tripe.

    In what way?
Clearly, from a health perspective they didn't.
I've tried to explain this to you (with mixed results, yes...).

From a health perspective, Sweden are doing worse than almost every country in the world. Obviously, they will have fewer infected people than many others due to their low population. But, if you take population and population density into account they are amongst the worst, or even THE worst affected country in the world. Fact.

Is Sweden on the right track?

    May 2nd, 2020 - 11:31 pm
The number of new corona infections is declining, according to the national health authority in Sweden.
The Swedish state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell confirmed in an interview with the broadcaster SVT that the number of reproductions has been below 1.0 for several days. This means that a Swede infected with the novel corona virus infects fewer than another Swede on average.
"That means the pandemic will gradually fade," Tegnell said late Friday night on the broadcaster.
A compilation by the Swedish health authority shows that the reproduction rate in the country has been relatively stable at around 1.0 since April 10. On April 1, it was still 1.40, on April 25 - the last value published so far - after a decline of several days, it was only 0.85.

    uupss forgot something

Sweden is taking an internationally recognized special route in the fight against the corona crisis. Compared to most other countries, the Scandinavian country has responded to the pandemic with more relaxed measures, for example, kindergartens, schools and other facilities have never been closed.
Rather, it appeals to the common sense of the citizens so that they keep their distance and the corona spread can thus be slowed down. Compared to the rest of Scandinavia, however, the Swedes have a relatively large number of infections and deaths: by Saturday morning, more than 22,000 infections and more than 2,650 deaths with Covid 19 disease had been recorded.

Now please don't include me in your shitfest.

I think its great that Sweden is trying a different way. Let's see what happens.
The Chinese have proven to be worthless....so far.

Here are the number of reported daily infections from Swedish authorities. Please note that they are not MY numbers, I'm simply running the data THEY provided. OK? Let's play a game.

Can you guess if this fucking nazi is a Republican or Democrat?

    Take your time now.

A planning commissioner of a Northern California city was removed from his post Friday night after saying that just as a forest fire clears dead brush, “the sick, the old, the injured” should be left to meet their “natural course in nature” during the coronavirus outbreak.

Via a Zoom meeting, the five-member City Council of Antioch, a city of about 110,000 people 35 miles east of Oakland, voted unanimously to remove Ken Turnage II from his post as chairman of the city’s planning commission.

Turnage, who owns a home restoration company in Antioch, had characterized the elderly, the homeless and people with weak immune systems as a drain on society who should be left to perish as COVID-19 sweeps through Contra Costa County, where it has killed 28 people and infected 907 to date.

“If we were to live our lives, let nature run its course, yes we will all feel hardship, we will all feel loss,” he wrote on Facebook. But “as a species,” he continued, the deaths would alleviate strain on the country’s healthcare and Social Security systems and free up jobs and housing.

As for “our homeless and other people who just defile themselves by either choice or mental issues,” Turnage wrote, the virus would “fix what is a significant burden on our society.”

A research assessment reported to have been compiled by the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance of western states has stated that the Chinese government deliberately hid or destroyed evidence about the initial outbreak of the coronavirus.

The document charts how Beijing denied at first that the disease could be transmitted between humans; silenced or ‘disappeared’ medics who tried to warn of the outbreak; blocked access by international organisations to Wuhan, where it originated; and refused to provide live samples to international scientists trying to find a vaccine.

The Five Eyes intelligence network – comprising the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand – has been sharing information on
Covid-19, but there is no specific joint operation on the issue. US intelligence agencies are carrying out an investigation at the order of Donald Trump, who has demanded that China pays compensation for its alleged negligence in allowing the pandemic to spread around the world.

Fancy having to kow tow to these fucking retards.

Stillwater rescinded its requirement that restaurant and retail customers wear face coverings after businesses reported employees facing threats of violence over the masks, according to a news release.

Mayor Will Joyce amended his emergency proclamation to “encourage” citizens to wear face coverings while at essential and nonessential businesses.

City Manager Norman McNickle said in a press release that businesses relayed that store employees had been “threatened with physical violence and showered with verbal abuse” Friday.

“In addition, there has been one threat of violence using a firearm,” McNickle said. “This has occurred in three short hours and in the face of clear medical evidence that face coverings helps contain the spread of COVID-19.

“Many of those with objections cite the mistaken belief the requirement is unconstitutional, and under their theory, one cannot be forced to wear a mask. No law or court supports this view.”

The city’s news release did not specify where threats against employees or verbal abuse had occurred.

Stillwater Police Chief Jeff Watts issued a separate statement refuting social media claims that the department was checking motorists for face coverings, responding to complaints about them or ticketing those without coverings.

Friday’s amended proclamation also extended the city’s state of emergency through May 31.

Unfortunately many countries reported numbers are based on different criteria.

    For just one example:

Great importance is placed on "reported test numbers".

    Is that:

    1. Applying to be tested?
    2. Awaiting the hospital to be built?
    3. Awaiting the hospital to have a free slot?
    4. Awaiting the hospital to have the necessary test kit?
    5. Awaiting the hospital to have a available tester?
    6. Awaiting the hospital to have the necessary analysis kit?
    7. Having the test performed?
    8. Having the test analysed?
    9. Being informed of the test result?
    10. Adding the test result to the "daily tested", reported number?

Which countries "report" at each stage?

Excellent question. I don't think there IS a common standard. Just by looking at the available data it becomes clear that there are two categories reported and they don't match.
It'd make my job a hell of a lot easier if they reported Tests Analysed, Tests Positive and Tests Negative, but there's currently no correlation between the numbers. Some nations are better than others, but it's an absolute mess, to say the very least.

Seriously, did you only learn straight line regression?

Use a polynomial and, better still, a log scale for the y-axis. Don't they teach office boys anything these days?

When you've done don't forget that you are comparing a race car on the track with lots of fuel on board to one stuck in the pits wondering how to restart the engine.

The problem is you are too lazy to do your research or look at anything else that could question your ONE graph. Typical government employees MO. No wonder the UK government is so fucked.
Actually, when I look at the data I can't find ONE single country where the number of daily infected people are increasing in Europe other than Sweden. EVERY country has a declining number of infected people.

    Here are some facts:

    The COVID-2019 Thread-screenshot-2020-05-03-10-35-aThe COVID-2019 Thread-screenshot-2020-05-03-10-35-aThe COVID-2019 Thread-screenshot-2020-05-03-10-35-aThe COVID-2019 Thread-screenshot-2020-05-03-10-35-aThe COVID-2019 Thread-screenshot-2020-05-03-10-34-a

As I said, it really does't matter how the numbers are twisted or turned, Sweden is at the very worst end of the scale regardless of how you look at it. Obviously, the reason Sweden is the only country with an upwards trend in terms of daily infected people is that they don't have a lockdown in place.

That IS logarithmic data, you amateur. The trend is logarithmic as well. If you want a polynomial trend I can provide one, but I can tell you straight away that it would only make my case look even stronger.
