There have already been people reported joining online work meetings naked by mistake, but this is fucking classic.

    Yes there is blurry video.

Always easy to find correlations if you look hard enough into any series of events, such as consumption of ice cream with an increased murder rate, living in a poor country with increased penis size, or even Facebook's popularity leading to the Greek debt crisis. But being TD, although this one is based on clearly documented historical fact it might trigger a resident whinger or two with a misplaced comma or grammatical era.

While plague and disease has devastated humanity many times throughout history, is it a coincidence that a major world changing plague has occurred with eerie precision every 100 years in recent times?

1720 — Great Plague of Marseille; estimate c100k or some 30% of the population died in the Marseilles region

1817/1824 — Cholera outbreak near Calcutta; Cholera was no stranger to India, but this one reached SEA, China, eastern Africa and up to the Med killing hundreds of thousands, mostly unnoticed by Europe which was alerted only when it started picking off British soldiers.

1918/1920 — Spanish flu; c500 million victims, pushing some indigenous communities to extinction and the brink.

    2020 — CPC coronavirus.

Scary, eh? Anyway, good news is aside from whatever turns up between now and 2120, we have a full century to prepare for that big one, so no excuses and hopefully it won't come as a surprise.

Is Putin thinking of changing his Prime Minister I wonder?

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin says he has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. He will be replaced by his deputy until he has fully recovered.

“It has just been revealed that my coronavirus tests have come back positive,” Mishustin said on Thursday night, as quoted by the TASS news agency. He made the announcement during a video conference with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

“The government will continue working as normal. I plan to be in active contact via phone and video calls on all key issues,” Mishustin said.

Putin accepted Mishustin’s recommendation to appoint Andrey Belousov as acting prime minister. “I would like to wish you a speedy recovery, get well soon,” Putin said as he signed an executive order to appoint Belousov.

Other details were not immediately known.

So Merca were late to the lockdown party and are going to leave it early....i think they are going to be early to the phase 2 party though. (below from the Telegraph)

Land of the free: Majority of US states begin to reopen as America enters new coronavirus phase

Thirty-one of 50 US states begin gradually to loosen Covid-19 restrictionsA majority of US states will partially reopen in the coming days as America enters a transition phase now the peak of coronavirus cases nationwide is believed to have passed.

Analysis of local orders in the country’s 50 states by CNN found that 31 were being loosened as focus begins to turn to getting the US economy growing again.

Donald Trump, the US president, has urged states to reopen as soon as possible when it is safe to do so but the final decision is being left to governors.

Senior US scientific advisers have warned that the change cannot be made like a “light switch” and remain concerned of a potential second wave of cases when autumn arrives.

A key staging post in America’s developing battle with the virus was passed yesterday when the Trump administration's nationwide “slow the spread” guidance elapsed....

The English penchant for cheap mawkish emotion celebrating their hypocrisy has no bounds and is rapidly outdoing the Americans in its depressing crassness.

Over 6,000 aged in care homes have died prematurely because of their exposure to COVID precipitated by a criminally negligent government which ignored them and their workers looking after the poor sods yet they arrange this grotesque jingoistic nonsense pandering to the Tory schtick propounding the idiotic notion that we are in a battle against the common enemy and must regain that " Blitz " spirit that made Britain "great".

And people lap it up like emotional sponges soaking up any old pap.

The DM is dribbling on..and on... about a rainbow appearing during the evening clapping, as BoJo looked towards the heavens.

They're really piling on the mawkish sentimentality.

If only brains had been engaged a little more keenly a few months ago then the supposed 'stiff upper lip' would not be so needed.

I wouldn't put more than someone else's bob each way on that, but someone did point out though that isolating sick people is quarantine while isolating healthy people is tyranny.
