The Top FIVE richest men in the world are worth $490-odd BILLION dollars (well OK, maybe a bit less recently).

WHO just lauded the 117,000-odd people who have donated a massive $43 MILLION to their Covid fund.

I mean come on, just take everything over $1 BILLION from any multi-billionaires and this crisis wouldn't hurt anyone.

And its not like they'd go hungry.

That's why they've been so reluctant to do it. Especially as a lot of the parents are medical workers.

The amount of speculation about English schools being closed suggests an announcement is just around the corner.

And that is also an added expense for families everywhere.

Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have announced they are temporarily closing their two Manchester hotels - and offering their rooms to the NHS for free.
The Manchester United legends' GG Hospitality group is shutting Hotel Football at Old Trafford and the recently-opened Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre from Sunday March 22, in response to the escalating coronavirus crisis.
They have vowed not to make any staff redundant or put anyone on unpaid leave during the closure.
"The company is working with its team to put a package in place for all staff members for the months ahead, following which the hope is that things would have returned to normal," they said in a statement.
"While health and safety remain the company’s primarily concern the economic situation of each individual team member is also being given utmost priority."

Manchester's Stock Exchange Hotel (Image: ABNM Photography)GG Hospitality has also been talking to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and will be accommodating its healthcare workers and medical professionals at the hotels, free of charge.

They say they want 'to provide them with a comfortable place to stay in these challenging times'.

Heading to the city today for a gov't transaction. The mayor will give us clearance for the checkpoints.... Don't really want to go to Puerto, but work is work. A PUI (person under investigation) died b4 his results arrived. He's only 37 years old and was isolated in a hospital. Jezzuzzz this is making me nervous. Travelling with just 1 companion and a driver. Really hoping to get back in the afternoon, but stores are running out of stocks and gotta transact with the bank.
I am so unlucky that if I fall into a barrel full of D*ick**s, I'd come out sucking my own thumb!

Most likely with underlying health problems already.

If you're fortunate enough to be both relatively young and healthy, you have very little to be worried about as far as your personal wellbeing is concerned.

Any anxiety should be for older relatives and those in poor health.

Markets have been closed down around here but that still hasn't affected life/routine. The stall holders moved out of the temple grounds and now line the main road, both sides, to sell their stuff. It's a busy road and I can only see problems. Better to put them back in the temple grounds.

Study proves conspiracy theorists wrong - coronavirus came from nature - NZ Herald

Proves them wrong but won't stop them. In fact, that actual study will be twisted and distorted and used as 'proof' itself.

These people are immune to facts and logic.

As I recall over the past week-10 days, Trump/Fed's initial pathetic stimulus package to calm the sheep was around 200-300bn, very quickly upped to 700-750bn at which the markets said bollix, then 1tr, 1.3tr within a couple of days, and now there's talk of getting serious with up to 5tr. Other govs and treasuries followed suit, with the latest ECB 'offer' for a breather upped and now closing in on 1tr from a pittance.

No matter what the final tally, call it bailout or stimulus, some small to large businesses will go to the wall while others will be carried through with public funds and concessions. But at this early stage the overall costs are being borne by the small people in terms of inconvenience, livelihood, and hard cash with many unable to scramble together even a few hundred $$ to tide them over an emergency on this scale, while the logistics involved in catering to these scattered lower end are yuge and complex. In such situations, imho it's the poor and poverty stricken that are best positioned to scrape through, having bugger all as the norm to start with.

Bars closed, not those pretending to be restaurants, and last evening the impromptu bar on Beach Road was about 4km long.
