    Such patronage is non refundable.
I'm sure that they started delivering appropriate cake tins to barracks when the pongos took over, thus ensuring business as usual.

Samui isn't that great, overdeveloped and usual hardened tourists operators...though there are places that may be more chill than others on the island).
Development wise the rule that buildings shouldn't be higher than coconuts have limited the eye-sores ... don't know if it's still enforced. Unlike Phuket apparently, I've never been there so can't tell for sure...Phuket has the reputation of being one of the nastiest place for a tourist to visit in Thailand (overpricing, obnoxious tourist operators, taxi mafia...)...that reputation even if half of it is true deterred me from going there.

Any places that tend to rip off customers for such a long time don't get my sympathy...they deserve it.

Had a great holiday in Samui a few years ago. The Russian rouble had recently gone down the crapper, so we had Bophut almost to ourselves at that time. Never had a bad holiday or experience on Samui, tbh.
Unfortunately, can't say the same about Phuket.
