Thread: Man arrested for stealing from guesthouse room in Si Phum

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the theft of goods from a guesthouse in Si Phum.


The goods, belonging to two foreign tourists, Mr. Jack Fredrick Obrien from the U.K. and Miss Shanel Elisa Ruggeri rom France were stolen from a room at the Ban Klang Wiang Guesthouse on Dec. 1.


The two farang returned to their room at around 9 p.m. on the evening finding that their room had been ransacked and their belongings stolen.


Using CCTV, police identified Mr. Kornphan Thanawut, a known criminal, exiting the room.

This morning, police targeted Thanawut’s dormitory room in Chang Klan where they also found the stolen goods.


The goods included a GoPro camera, 1 black selfie stick, a Casio model watch, a black trip, a motorcycle helmet, one pink iPhone 7, a battery charging cable and a pair of Converse gray shoes.


Mr. Thanawut has been charged with theft at night using a vehicle for convenience and possession of stolen goods.

Indeed, when I check into my hotel whilst travelling I always take all my impedimenta with me when I pop out for a bite to eat, viz. laptop, iPad, camera, passport, all my cash, all my designer footwear and certainly my iPhone particularly when it has run out of fucking juice and has gone fucking dead.
