Sea levels are not rising, the Earth is not a bathtub, a trace gas is not the cause of a catestrophic mean global temperature rise, nor is Venus a model formearth despite the simplicitity of the debate!

Bangkok can reclaim its title as 'Venice of the East' and floating markets will make a come back in a big way.

    Yeah, funny bout that.
I see a list of red again, is this because I have my own views and dont agree with the inner sanctum.

I haven't been paying close attention to this thread but, having looked at a few of the posts on your profile, I'd hazard a guess that the reason for the reds is because you're an old man whose "opinions" aren't really your own and are instead regurgitated from an older man even more bigoted than yourself and who's despised by most of the educated world.

    Just a guess, mind.

In this case it will happen once humanity has killed itself off, of course.

Sea rising or land sinnking, whatever, I doubt authorities would let this happen...too much money involved for the "good people", they would rather add more concrete on top of the ground (further worsening the sinking) set up seawalls at public expense than make them lose big money...I would be very surprised if they let the capital down as they have invested heavily on infrastructure and there are still more project in the pipe for the city. (Maybe to the detriment of other cities' development).

Wealthy Bangkokians have been buying real estat elsewhere for some time now...either because they fear the prediction occurs or because they think it would be better to leave in a smaller city, maybe a little bit outside of it for their old days.

More shopping malls, corporate parks, and parking plazas would surely be beneficial, especially upcountry where it all originates.

The two are very different processes. Eg: parts of Jakarta are sinking at a rate orf 2 or 3 cms per year, but this is not sea levels rising but land subsidence dueto removal of ground water.

And they'll work out that it was because money talks. If they still have a monetary system.

There won't be that many future generations to be concerned with - en masse as well as a measured quality.
As a species, we're not that exceptional.

None of the coming disasters will make the human species go extinct. It will probably destroy our technical civilization. But as a species we are robust. We will go back to life as hunter gatherers.

No, that's because there's an epidemic of paranoid fucking schizos in the US, probably from the constant drip of pharmaceuticals in everything.
