16-year-old killed by falling tree in Mae Hong Son

A 16-year-old on a motorcycle was killed by a falling tree as wild weather hit Mae Hong Son this morning, Sept. 27.

The tree fell on the kid in front of Wat Pha Ang on Highway 1095 in Moo 11 Pang Mu, Mueang Mae Hong so at around 8:30 a.m. The deceased student, Mr. Pawinsuwan died of head injuries – he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The wild weather also resulted in a house burning to the ground. In a twist to the usual short circuit story, a short circuit – possibly with a transformer on an electricity pole caused a fire that spread to a house in Moo 1 Mae Sam Lab, Sop Moei at 7 a.m.

There was no one injured but the house was completely and utterly guttered with next to nothing left standing.

Who's helmet is next to the traffic cone?

...not that it would have helped in this case.
