Indeed especially when everything is classified and the book is being thrown at guys like Assage who dare to publish classified info. Charges against him now could end in a 100 year sentence.

Sad days for the so called "free press".

^I don't think the mainstream press has been free for a long time. Unquestioning reporting from Govt / authority sources has been the widely-accepted norm for a long time. A quick look at who the media moguls really are, tells more than most of their outlets do, tbh. The truth usually finds a way out eventually.

indeed, hence why the CIA and MSM are terrified with social network and alternative news sources that they are quick to ridicule as "conspiracists", while the population is too scared to question anything and prefer not to disrupt their supplies of iPhones and other smartphones

see Harry as the perfect example of a scared audience that will swallow anything the government feed them

^Your logic is a bit suspect.

Group A has been caught lying, therefore Group A lies all the time.

Group B opposes Group A all the time, therefore Group B tells the truth all the time.

    This is a fallacious argument.

Yes, we are lied to. Just because someone tells us that, it doesn't mean they are telling us the truth about things, either.

ok let me try your logic again,

if A lied, and B tell us that A lied, B might not be telling the truth, when it's been revealed that A lied?

hello, are you there on earth, silly man????

Since the Group A has been lying many times (almost "all the time") and the "Group B tells the truth all the time", the logic is: we will believe the Group A anyway?

How far is too far? UK tabloids mocked for claiming Kim fed general to piranhas
    10 Jun, 2019

Even the readers of several British tabloids have cast doubt on a source-based story claiming that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un executed one of his generals in a piranha-filled tank.

The eye-grabbing headline first appeared in the Daily Star. The tabloid cited "sources" as saying that Kim executed one of his generals in a manner worthy of a James Bond movie, by throwing him into a fish tank infested with piranhas. In the 1977 film 'The Spy Who Loved Me', the evil Karl Stromberg fed his assistant to a shark and attempted to repeat the trick on Agent 007.

The report does not provide the names of the sources or the general, but is replete with gory detail – it claims that before being thrown to the piranhas, the general's arms and torso were slashed with knives. Whether he drowned, bled to death, or was killed by the piranhas (or whether any of it actually happened), is impossible to tell.

Readers of the Daily Star and other British tabloids that pounced on the story, however, found it hard to take at face value. Instead, a flurry of memes ensued.

    @Klondyke and Dragonfly

Just saying be skeptical of every news and propaganda source. Group B doesn't necessarily tell the truth all the time just because they called out Group A on a lie.
