Of course. If you can "aim" empathy.

Like Lom, you're confusing "empathy" with "sympathy".
You can't turn empathy on and off. It's something some people have. Psychopaths have none. It's apparent paedo's have none either.

All I said was I can sort of understand what a rapist does, and I also said I can not understand what a paedo does. That's beyond my level of empathy.
"Sort of understanding" does not mean condoning, nor does it mean I have those same tendencies. I can understand a hungry street urchin stealing a loaf of bread, that does not mean I condone it nor does it imply I would do it.

And you liken that to rape.

Hooo boy. Here you go again.

There's nothing quite like you when you've dug yourself a hole.

You actually seem comfortable in it, as if it's a cave.

No, you fool. You have such a small capacity to comprehend anything and tend to go with the simple "lets find a fault here" motivation.
I in no way likened stealing a loaf of bread to rape. That's preposterous and you imaging it may be telling.
The subject at hand is about empathy and understanding why a person does what they do, and knowing what "empathy" means.

Here's an example: Cyrille tries desperately to find grammar and vocab mistakes in all members because his own insecurity in knowing he's not actually a good English teacher. It's called tall poppy syndrome. I see that, I empathise.
Cyrille also tries to find character flaws in all members... tall poppies at work again. I can see that, I can empathise.
Neither of those empathic insights reflect on me. It's empathy. Seeing it as it is from your perspective.

That is the definition of understanding another person.
I don't have that asset when it comes to rapists or paedos. Fortunately.

Where is the righteous indignation or arrests for the "known facilitators", or the Filipino Mother planning to sell her kids to him? Pretty fucked up all round..
The Phillippines don't seem to want to report news like this.

    Perhaps they are embarrassed.

From what I can see, most arrests and prosecutions of this filth are at the behest of overseas police forces.

I expect flip police are akin to the Thai ones, i.e. fucking useless and corrupt as fuck, but maybe Davis or Katie would know more about that.

^The "known facilitators" might actually be the cops themselves, as they oh-so-often are here in Thailand. The main customers being native males, and only getting 'pinged' when foreigners try to join up.

Yes, generally useless. The crimes are rarely reported and, if they are, there is no financial incentive for the cops to do anything unless another country forces their hand.
