British Paedo teacher jailed for four years in UK

Not long enough. Facilitating child rape should be the same as rape. And he should be permanently banned from travelling.

A British music teacher who plotted to sexually abuse girls as young as four in the Philippines has been jailed.

James Alexander, 42, was caught by the National Crime Agency after he sent money to known facilitators who had live-streamed child sexual abuse from Iligan City, in Northern Mindanao.

He was arrested on June 30, 2018, at Manchester Airport as he flew into the UK from Thailand where he had lived since 2017.

    <snip>

Alexander taught at Bromsgrove International School in Bangkok, Thailand, which dismissed him upon notification of the investigation.

Hope he gets the treatment he needs. Pedophilia is a disease.

Regardless of the "treatment" he receives - How do you undo the damage to the young lives he has caused?

Which should come first? treatment, or punishment? It can be argued that his "disease" damaged, seriously damaged, and may have destroyed the lives of innocents - how do you atone for that?

Call me naive, but I can not understand this. One can sort of understand rape...sexual urges which are natural but carried out by force, but this sort of thing is so abhorrent that in my mind this is a sickness that should be culled from society permanantly.

There are some criminals not worth bothering with rehabilitation, this would be one such case. There was some Louis Theroux docu about a mental detainment facility for nonces, I believe that it was almost impossible for them to be released into society. I dunno, there seems to be a very obvious and cheaper option to that...

Yeah, I don't care if it's a rope, a bullet or a protracted torture. Revenge is not the thing, removing from society is. Just do it.

I wasn't the judge. If I was, I would have hanged him, but that would be against the law. The law prescribes the punishment. Honestly, four years in jail is nothing. Now, the fault and decay in the current judicial system is on display.

Extreme punishments for paedophiles might appease the mob but it just leads to kids being put in greater danger.

So lighter punishments for pedos would make kids safer? Some fucked up logic you have.

What strawman you said extreme punishments for pedos puts kids in greater danger. Or did you mean something totally different to what you posted.

I knew there was a danger of being taken out of context if I wrote that.
I did put "sort of" in italics to emphasise the tenuous nature of the "understanding".
If you have any empathy for fellow men, you would have to realise that sometimes the urges get very powerful and that some men just can't help themselves. Obviously most men have control and morals.

    You'd better stop digging now..

Why should one show empathy for a person who rapes adults because of an "urge" but not show empathy for one who because of another "urge" rapes children?
The answer is of course that none of them should get any empathy, they should both be strongly condemned and punished by the law.

Not show empathy. Empathy is something you just have.
"Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference,"
I think you're muddled up with "sympathy".

My empathy is 100% aimed at the 5 year old girl or the victim of a rape. I have zero empathy for the perps no matter their motivation.

If ever one of my family is the victim of these predators, I will hunt him down, rip off his head and shit down his throat.

    I'll go with:
    Exodus 21:23-25

Forget this "turn the other cheek" nonsense.
    Matthew 5:38-42
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"

    • James Alexander caught after sending money to facilitators in Iligan City
    • He had pictures of a 12-year-old girl sent to him by a Filipino mother
    • They then discussed plans for him to meet the girl in a hotel and she told him she had other daughters aged nine, six and four
    • Alexander, of Beeston, Leeds, jailed at Leeds Crown Court and given a five-year sexual harm prevention order which bans foreign travel
So he hadn't actually committed sexual acts with any kids yet?

Where is the righteous indignation or arrests for the "known facilitators", or the Filipino Mother planning to sell her kids to him? Pretty fucked up all round..
