    Nine provinces hit by rainstorms

    Nation
Rainstorms damaged 411 houses in nine provinces between April 5 and 7 but no casualties were reported.

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department (DPMD) said on Sunday that rainstorms had ravaged the provinces of Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Loei, Phrae, Maha Sarakham, Ubon Ratchathani, Phitsanulok, Pathum Thani and Sakon Nakhon from Friday to Sunday under the influence of a low-pressure ridge.

“We are now coordinating with relevant authorities to deliver timely help to affected people,” DPMD director-general Chayapol Thitisak said yesterday.

According to him, surveys had been conducted to evaluate the damage so that compensation and assistance could be delivered in line with the Finance Ministry’s regulations.

The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms for some parts of the Central Region, the East, the Northeast and the South.

“Please keep abreast of weather conditions and updates and watch out for rainstorms that may hit your areas,” Chayapol said.

Those needing assistance can call Hotline 1784 round the clock.

Yeah. Down south it's been far too dry.
Saw a mate from KL, and spoke to another from SIN, and both say they have heavy rain every afternoon.
So, N Thailand gets it, south of Thailand's border gets it, but here there is almost none.

BIL had the roof of his house blown off last week, but very little rain. He's had to leave work from the South to come up and fix it.

Not a lot going right for him and his family in recent years...

Lampang got smacked with a rogue rain and windstorm on Friday. Quite a few homes with those corrugated roofs sheets got blown off. This has always been a huge concern of mine having those things blowing around like frisbees at 20 to 40Km. Lethal.

Really! not a drop here, good downpour would be so nice, water the garden and cool things down about 20c
Never mind - I will just continue to run up the electric bill!

Rained 3 days in a row here. A relief from the hotter than normal and cleared the air nicely.
