British Tourist 31 found dead within hours of arrival in Bangkok and safe ransacked.

British tourist Luke Ramage 31 found dead in Thailand hotel room.

The holidaymaker had reportedly only just arrived at his hotel when he was found unresponsive on his bed by a receptionist.
There were no valuables inside his safe and cigarette packs were scattered on the floor.
Police say a friend of Luke, of Consett, Co Durham, raised the alarm at the Bavana Hotel — then vanished.
Police in Thailand are investigating the death of a British tourist in Bangkok, the Foreign Office has said.

The holidaymaker - who has been identified by grieving friends as Luke Ramage - had reportedly only just arrived at his hotel when he was found unresponsive on his bed by a receptionist.
According to his Facebook page, Mr Ramage - who was from the town of Consett in County Durham and worked for a cleaning company - arrived in Thailand on 14 December.

He checked in at Dubai International airport in the early hours and touched down in Bangkok later in the day, with his last recorded activity at the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park.
The Sun reported that the 31-year-old was staying at the nearby Bavana Hotel, which is a short walk away, but had not unpacked his luggage when he was found and the room safe was left open.

One of his final Facebook posts on 14 December featured a picture of him and his travelling companions along with the caption: "Lads on tour."
Among the friends to have commented are Julie Payne, who described his death as "heartbreaking", and Jade Storey, who said she "can't honestly believe this is happening".
"I love you to the moon and back Luke, you were my bro from another mother," she added.
"I still think I'm going to see you again, this is the crazy thing. It's not sank in at all. Love you forever, my man."

The Foreign Office said: "Our staff are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Thailand.

I don't see the significance of posting a pic of 'rules for guests'?

Very strange. Drugs maybe? Can't think of anything else that makes sense off hand. Might also explain why his friend scarpered after raising the alarm.

    I think so too.

In fact its old news this and on the other channel there was a clip with a Thai cop saying he'd drank himself to death.

He leaves two kids behind too

Probably to illustrate that the hotel was "guest friendly"...

The only mystery by the sound of it is who cleaned out the safe: Hotel staff, his mates, or plod?

The dad-of-two went out the area's bars and initial reports said the safe in his hotel, which had no valuables inside, was open.
Now, the boss of the Bavana hotel says Luke was seen on CCTV staggering through the reception with his pals trying to get him into his room.

They took a lift to the fifth room then left him on the bed before walking back out to go to continue drinking, it's claimed.
Hours before his death Luke, from County Durham, posted a Facebook photo of himself with two pals in a Bangkok bar.

A hotel room safe is usually open when you check in, who says he has used it? Who says it was empty?

Jumping to conclusions again Harry. As usual.

Molly or any other pill cut with any opium based meds would potentially be deadly combined with booze.
Could just be a sad case of sudden adult death syndrome

Yeah, good point. He might not have known the rules of common sense. Then again they didn't say he was found with his cash and valuables which most likely would have eliminated theft as a possibility.

Well according to his FB he had a busy trip ahead.. BKK-Patts-Malaysia-Cambodia-Vietnam-Laos-Chiang Mai-BKK.

    Never even made the taxi.

Things can't have been good at home if he wasn't there for Xmas with his two kids.

Indeed, leaving small kids to go off mongering around Asia on a jolly boys tour.
Found potentially overdosed in a short time hotel.
A sad Xmas for his family.

The linked report says he was found with bruises to the shoulders and legs plus there was evidence of a fight.

Another clever suicide to keep TD detectives on their toes?

Well if his mates had to carry him home he could have fallen over or who knows what.

Sounds like he was in a right mess.

I suppose that he was an ex-con drug addict who did time for dealing might have nothing to do with things. Certainly would explain the calibre of his "friends" and the nature of their grand tour which led to them deserting him in his extremis.

I'm going with Rohypnol in a drink. He had an adverse reaction?
