Now, now… Patts got a thriving community of Falang Expats living the life, tropical beaches, luxury condos a short walk from the beach, and, of course, girls, girls and more girls, an endless variety available to pick and choose from, at your beck and call. Not to mention their own “user friendly” Immigration Department and their own personal “Tourist Police” department to keep everything on the up and up. Complete with Tourist Police Volunteers so you can communicate in your mother tongue

Oh, and can’t forget, ‘tis a most sought after “family orientated” tourist destination.

With so much going for it the Hoteliers should be counting their blessings...

^ Come on then......Show me a better family hotel than this in Thailand..

North Pattaya with its own private beach and its own water park.
There's plenty more family hotels I could list too.
Use that one above as your base and you will have a superb family holiday with loads of attractions and things to do
If you go to Pattaya and try and spend on a hotel what you'd spend in Cha Am or Prachuap Kiri Khan then yes you most probably will be residing with a bunch of whoremongers.

If you went to Bangkok with your family, you wouldn't stay in Soi Cowboy or Nana, unless you're a daft Welsh fucker

Even the chinks turn their noses up at the place, there are some nice resorts but it's still fundamentally what it always was, a stinking open air brothel full of ugly dumb brown Issan whores who mostly hate the customers anyway. Strictly for the desperate straight off the planes, along with the resident pedos and poofters. Well known as a weekend get away for Bkk tefler brigade to splash their cash on gash before heading back on Sunday evening.

Hey, I personally enjoy Patts, lived there about six months, frequent vacationer. Enjoy the beaches - do NOT swim. Good to walk across the street, plop down in a beach chair, pay the small fee, get catered to, trash picked up, food and drink delivered, massage if you like, I will pretty much continue to be a frequent vacationer. Only 2-3 hours away and easily accessible by bus.

As far as the hoteliers - oh, well, life sucks, Patts will be a better, more enjoyable place now that you don't have to "navigate" around the throngs of Chinese Vacation Groups following their flags.

Official numbers may show different, but imho the Chinese are gradually moving away from Thai establishments to Chinese. Tourists have little choice, like the Koreans the Chinese go wherever the flag leads them, and it's a simple enough matter to funnel them into captivity.

Fex, in recent times Jomtien has seen a couple of large Chinese restaurants, most of the time empty or with a trickle of diners, while the Chinese have also started buying up batches of condos/shop houses to accommodate what must be an expected flood of brethren. These investors ain't mugs, they're not going to invest into failed projects so there must be a longer term plan afoot, and it doesn't take millions of tourists to turn essential tourist services into gold mines. And at least part of the reason for Chinese money people discovering this route to easy wealth may be credited to the Thais themselves, the ones most hurt and protesting, as reward for decades long shabby treatment of their livelihood.

Either way I reckon a casino would explain the large amounts being pumped in; considering just Jomtien, why the need for a beachside shopping centre, Tesco, and hospital inside residential areas instead of the outskirts where they should be; and dozens of new condo blocks?

I'll go out on a limb and say it involved copious amounts of beer, Soi 6/1, tequila shots, and him walking up the next morning with a used condom hanging out of his quoit.

Near as. I think its 40 baht for the ferry here and back.

15 minute speedboad trip away from the sleaze and crystal clear water.

Can those Pattaya knockers who live in their castles, surrounded by uneducated neanderthal peasants living in trees say the same?

I can't even say it and i live in the UK most of the time, some of the people you meet here make some of the neanderthai peasants there look like the next evolutionary step.
