NAN — Police on Friday were hunting for a suspected drug dealer who made a brazen escape from at a court building by just shoving his way out the door.


Adirek Chomphuros, 36, pushed past police officers guarding him at a court Thursday morning and ran for freedom just hours before he was due to hear the verdict in his narcotics trafficking trial. A provincial police commander said he’s ordered an inquiry into how the suspect managed to flee the scene despite wearing foot shackles.

The weight of the cash slowed the guards down.

They nabbed the initial escapee, but the second guy had an easy job of it.

In security camera footage released to the media, Prachan first made the attempt to escape, pushing past guards and through a gate. After seeing Prachan’s escape, Adirek followed suit.
But while Prachan was quickly apprehended at the scene, Adirek ran into a nearby temple and rode away on a motorcycle he stole. Maj. Gen. Attasit said police are close to arresting Adirek.
“We have put pressure on everyone close to him,” Attasit said. “His family, his siblings, his friends.”

Big loss of face for these cops. Bet Adirek won't get a second chance.

I'm just laughing at the twat who tries to follow him on his motorbike before realising he can't find his key.

The first guy seems to have undone the chains on his legs. You can see at 1 minute into the video he is releasing them and at 1m 08s when he starts running, some of the chain comes off his legs and lands in the corner of the room (1m 10s).

One of the prisoners who made a break for it while in the holding area of a courthouse in Nan province last week while waiting to face drug possession charges has been shot dead by police today.
The 36-year-old man, known as Yolai, and another suspect made the news last week after CCTV footage of their escape went viral.
Police have been hunting for Yolai ever since he fled on a stolen motorbike and today he was spotted driving a red Mazda in downtown Nan.
A car chase ensued and eventually the suspect was fatally shot in a standoff as officers rightly believed he was armed when he resisted arrest.
Upon searching the car a shotgun was found at his feet.
The deceased had escaped as he was set to be tried following his arrest last December for possessing 2,112 speed pills and 50 grams of crystal meth.
Police said he was one of the main players in a large network supplying the city with illicit drugs.
