I flew with my family out of Suvarnaphumi airport on an International departure on Monday afternoon 5th March.
The Aircraft left the gate on time ...and taxied out for a kilometer or so ..... then suddenly stopped! After 15 minutes the captain made an apology to passengers .... The Aircraft nose wheel had dropped into a substantial pot-hole and could not move ... and so we are waiting for a tug! Approximately one hour later we recommenced taxiing and departed late for KL, and we went close to missing a connection. If the Taxiways and runways are so poorly maintained are we at risk? As a long term commercial pilot and Engineer I am also concerned at possible landing gear problems following this sort of stress. The airport domestic arrival area also got a poor score with over an hour wait for our Thai Smile luggage delivery, (only option into BKK from UTH at the time) and filthy toilet with blocked overflowing urinals
