Is Soi 6 dusted and safe again once more?
According to a mate of mine business as usual.
Seems things are getting a bit out of control in Pattaya at the moment with more assaults and fights particularly in the red light areas. Most assaults do not get reported with blood covered people receiving medical treatment at the hospitals daily.
You have to be out of your mind to select Pattaya, particularly in the tourist bar areas, as your holiday destination unless your a whore monger.

I first went to Pattaya 30 years ago and continued to do so on weekends for another 10 years and never saw a violent incident on Walking street or the other red light districts.
The place was an escape from Bangkok, being a fun and safe place to go.
Now it is a cesspit.
^You live in Pattaya
Plus one on that..... I find that I tend to go out for a beer early doors and am always home by 7.
I cannot remember being present at a fight in any bar on the Darkside of Pattaya and I have lived here for 16 years.
Not to say it never happens but I have never seen any real problems and 1,000's of farang live out this way.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
According to seeking asylum it's now a magnet for Asian families, and the sleaze scene has all but died out. And he regularly inspects both Soi Nana in Bangkok and the sleazier areas of Pattaya for the dwindling evidence on display.
He seems to consider it something of a 'calling'.
^ I am sure some consider Pattaya as one of the best places in the world.
Depends what your looking for I suppose.
Personally I dislike the seedy side of the place with a passion as others here do.
The outer suburbs of Greater Pattaya are very nice with very little crime going down.
I cannot remember Genticles mentioning he gets out this way or maybe it isn't his calling.
Heh...Where else would you have a bloke with the sobriquet, Genticles, other than the good old Buffalo Board?...Almost sounds biblical, it does...
I suppose, wherever I go in Pattaya, my Aura of shining goodness and light must pervade the immediate environment. So, I repeat:-
I have witnessed no such things. I have always felt safe. The main hazard is the Cops really, unless you consider petty rip-offs a hazard.
Idiots are a hazard wherever they go- best avoided. Is it any different in Ibiza, Acapulco, Blackpool, Angeles, Gold Coast?
Considering it's stock-in-trade (booze, partying & sex), Pattaya is a rather safe place imo. Just stay off your motosai when pissed.
I have to say in defence of Thailand, and Pattaya in particular, I have witnessed more drink-fuelled mayhem in a British provincial town on one summer's late Friday night/ early Saturday morning than my entire time here in the Los; smashed shop windows, puddles of puke and piss on the pavements and shop doorways, pools of blood testifying to running battles between flesh-headed, tattooed oiks, caterwauling cellulite ridden hulks exposing their lard wrinkles and swinging udders while pawing over their shag for the night who's too pissed to move and staggering youths so blind drunk they weave onto the road stopping passing traffic and all played out to the soundtrack of sirens and ringing burglar alarms and the chorus of baying morons remonstrating with the police not to take their blood-stained shirtless mate into the cells.
Compared to the moral decay that is prevalent throughout urban and provincial Britain infested with unspeakable untermensch indulging in mindless, wanton slobbishness, Pattaya doesn't seem too bad really. Most folk seem to enjoy it but certainly the several million Chinese, Russian and Asean visitors travelling annually as families or tour groups are not noted for their beer bar excursions and in truth their visit to Walking Street is, as most know, made out of curiosity and not to solicit whores.
No response to LT's comments then, sassy, despite them being 180 degrees opposed to your recently finger painted picture of Pattaya as a wholesome retreat for families?
On BREXIT you intermittently talk sense, and on this topic you talk nonsense. I have the mental agility to adjust my responses accordingly.
That's simply bad logic and clearly expressed out of ignorance. I rarely if ever go to the Dark side unless it is to see friends living there - it's too inconvenient and of little interest being merely a location for suburban estates amid cleared scrubland and forests that have generated some amenities, mostly indifferent.
Most expats I know rarely venture to WS, it's for tourists, and usually only visit central Pattaya to eat or drink there, often preferring to remain in their condominium developments in Jomtien, Pratumnak, Wongamat and Naklua where there is usually more than enough choice to satisfy their needs.
Do you have piles? You certainly seem to post as if you suffer from intermittent perturbations.
