British female backpacker, 22, found dead with friend in Cambodia

A young British backpacker has been found dead in a budget hostel in Cambodia alongside one of her travelling friends.Natalie Jade Seymour, 22, from Stotfold, Bedfordshire, left her her job at a finance company and started backpacking in Asia around two month ago.
She was found dead this morning on a bunk bed at the Monkey Republic guesthouse in Kampot. Her close friend Abbey Gail Amisola, 27, from Winnipeg, Canada, was found dead in the room next door.

A worker at the Monkey Republic hotel who answered the phone said: ”It seems they were very close friends who were travelling together. They arrived together and went around together.
”This is now in the hands of the police but there is nothing suspicious about their deaths.”
Local police in Cambodia are understood to be investigating the two mysterious deaths.
The Foreign Office have been contacted for comment.

Correct. It happens so frequently that it’s now considered perfectly normal.
Feel sorry for the girls and their families.

Natalie had texted her mum saying they both had food poisoning and that she was going to the local pharmacy to buy stomach relief medicine.

The room they were both found dead in has tablets on the floor and a packet of tablets. Police believe this might be the reason for their deaths, dodgy pills.

Poisoned by bug spray most likely, food wood take longer and probably eaten different anyway. Hotel needs looking at. Pills for stomach upsets not likely to be fatal.

    Very sad.

Wouldn't it be a bit... err, something, if it ended up that a Thai did it.

Do journalists read what they write?

Poor girls, their families must be devastated.

ALWAYS suspicious when two active young people pass away simultaneously but the evidence is there that this was not foul play.

I see 8 pills on the floor and a foil pack. The foil pack is the sort of size you get from a box of medicine, that is not the retail strips of Panadol you get at pharmacies. There must also be a bottle because you do not strip 8 pills from a foil pack. Looks like a mix of medicines have been taken, possibly without clear advice in English.

No foul play here, sadly misadventure.

So it is a mystery as to why and how they did it, which could be cleared up by TD CSI very quickly, but it does not involve a suspicion of foul play.

Do you understand that "suspicious" and "mysterious" mean two different things.

Dodgy medicine. Look at how the pills are spilled over the floor.

It may very well have been the food poisoning .
The food poisoning killed them and the drugs had no effect ?

Will there be an autopsy to establish the cause of death or have the unfortunate girls been cremated already. ..

Yes, it could be the food poisoning that killed them as well. It's all on the autopsy I guess.

I don't think food poisoning causes such a sudden death as the wrong chemicals.

Doesnt seem like sudden death, as they had informed their Parents the day before and had also been to the doctors .

Dodgy as in they tried to make a run for it but didn't get far?

Couldn't have been knocked over by someone in their death-throes?

Could have been and that's what I was implying. Didn't get that?
Death throes from food poisoning or after taking chemicals? Which one is more likely?

No need for autopsy, I believe we on TD are quite capable of solving this 'mystery"!

One should check the date of their return tickets. They knew what awaited them. They found their Shangrila and chose seperate rooms so as not to upset their mums.
