    Not suspicious? ???
Are you implying their deaths have nothing in common?

They ate the same food, took the same drugs.

    Start the investigation there.

Probably pesticide for bedbugs again. Chlorpyrifos?
The chances of them spraying only the two rooms used by a pair who were travelling together?

No, if you hear about a Thai having been smuggled out down the back stairs a day or two earlier and the death kept out of the press, as happened at the Doomtown Hotel in Chiang Mai, then that's a different story.

TD CSI as pointless as the local authority investigation. It will be cleaned up to prevent bad PR for tourism, and blamed on whatever accidental death scenario seems most plausible.

If they were puking and shitting everywhere it'd be phosphide poisoning, like the Bellanger sisters on Phi Phi. But they were not (that we know of yet).

And people don't generally die from chlorpyrifos poisoning...

    Could have been counterfeit medicine.

Can people die from heroin if they snort it ? I doubt it......though anything's possible.

But the thing is : TWO of them died.....so it would have been a pretty potent substance. Otherwise, you'd think that one might have survived.

    Something fishy about that cone..

They were rushed to Kampot provincial hospital but they could not be revived. Local reports suggested they had already passed away when found in the hostel.
A forensic examination was being prepared to establish the exact cause of death.
A member of the management of the Monkey Republic Hostel told MailOnline: 'We are all deeply shocked and very sad for the families and friends of these two very nice women.
'It seems they were very close friends who were travelling together. They arrived together and went around together.
'This is now in the hands of the police but there is nothing suspicious about their deaths.
'One of the staff saw them last night and asked if they were going to eat in the restaurant, but they said they weren't going to be eating. They did have a lot of water in their room. Everyone is very upset about it.'

    Foreign girls dead in ‘overdose’

Two young foreigners died from a suspected drug overdose in Kampot province in the early hours of yesterday morning.

British national Natalie Seymour, 22, and Canadian Abbey Amisola, 27, had been staying at the Monkey Republic guesthouse.

Provincial police chief Mao Chanmathurith said the two young women died of a pharmaceutical drug overdose, rejecting any possibility they had been murdered.

“There were no marks on them or any evidence suggesting they were killed,” he said. “They died after overdosing on medicines that they took themselves.

“Their bodies have been sent to Phnom Penh.”

A senior local police officer who declined to be named said the pair may have been suffering from food poisoning before taking the medicine.

“We found pills for headaches and dizziness at the scene,” he said. “A few of their friends came and told us the girls had eaten something bad and had diarrhoea and headaches, so we think they took too much medicine.”

The officer ruled out any suggestion they may have committed suicide together.

“We cannot say it was a suicide because they called for help from guesthouse staff at around 3am,” he said. “They were sent to the provincial hospital where they were pronounced dead.

“It was definitely not murder because we did not find any marks or bruises on their bodies.”

The officer said food poisoning leading to an overdose was the most likely cause of death, but no tests had been carried out on the food in the girls’ stomachs.

Their bodies have been sent to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh for the relevant embassies to take charge of, he added.

That should save doing an autopsy.

The police rules out a double suicide because...

... the girls called for help at 3am.....

It's not murder because there were no marks on the body....

Good, no cremation to cover up evidence then.

You need to take about 50 Tramadol 50mg to OD and you'd have puked them out long before you got that many down your neck. A recreational dose of Tramadol is between 4 and 8 50mg pills. There is no way they accidentally ingested 50 pills. As it was Cambodia and as Tramadol is often used recreationally and as there are many suppliers of fake Tramadol in Asia it's quite possible they were poisoned by a dodgy batch.

That's pretty females with a plethora of accessible social media pics. Because I'm pretty sure they'd care a lot less if there weren't any.
