    Parking Restrictions:
Kerb stones painted alternate black and white means no parking. Red and white means parking restrictions apply. These markings may also be on lampposts or other posts on the side of the road to which they apply. This will not stop motor bikes parking on the pavements instead

    Wouldn't change a thing.

They can't process the required forethought to consider that, and would thus carry on regardless.
    I stand corrected, you're right.

    yesterday driving to work.

5am on the railway line bypass (pattaya), pickup loaded with workers coming up the wrong way with no headlights on, I damn near hit the concrete wall swerving to avoid.

This happens often with scooters but rarely with pickups.
I drive or ride everyday, I often see people going the wrong way, but so far those ones were driving on the kerb with some incursions on the slow lane... I have yet to see someone doing that on the fast lane....

I've seen plenty drive in the wrong direction on the hard shoulder. But I really didn't think anyone was stupid enough to drive on the short curve, in the opposite direction of the overtaking lane!

He isn't in an overtaking lane. If you count the lanes there are four lanes. Therefore there's a very good possibility that he's traveling in a lane specifically for drivers on the correct side to carry out a central reservation U-turn.

^ zoom in closer to the bend Prag. The two outside lanes have straight-on arrows on the road and the two nearside lanes have turn right arrows. Looks like a merge into a two lane highway as you enter the town.

Pickup truck driver in fatal accident slapped with attempted murder

Police have filed attempted murder charge against the driver of a pickup truck who drove the vehicle in the opposite traffic direction which eventually collided head-on with a sedan.

A six-month old baby boy was killed and five others, including the pickup truck driver, were injured in the accident, which occurred on Sept 5 on a road in Tambon Suan Taeng, Muang district.

Pol Maj-Gen Krisana Jamsawang, commander of Suphan Buri provincial police, said Monday (Sept 11) that tests showed high amount of alcohol in the body of the pickup truck driver, Mr Wimon Poomgong.

From the video footage, he said that it was clear Mr Wimon was intentional and fully aware that he was driving on the opposite side of traffic direction. For that matter, he added that the police decided to slap the truck driver of attempted murder.

Mr Wimon himself was seriously injured in the accident and he is now being hospitalized at Chao Phraya Yommarat hospital in Suphan Buri.

Asked why the drive the vehicle in the opposite side of the traffic direction, Mr Wimon said he could not say anything for now, but he said he was sorry for the incident.

Mr Wimon’s wife told the police during the questioning that her husband had not been drinking for a long time. But she admitted that she had a quarrel with him before he drove his pickup truck out of the house.

I think dangerous driving would be a little more appropriate than attempted murder.

They do realise that the accident caused death and so it is murder not attempted murder.

,,, No you're right...that would be a little too much forethought.

If it was an accident I can't see him being convicted for murder, not even in Thailand, though he could probably benefit from a brain injury.
