Pick-up truck guided by GPS hit by train in Chumphon

A pick-up truck was hit by a train in Pathiu district of Chumphon province on Saturday (Sept 2) while the driver was following a route guided by the global positioning system (GPS).

The pick-up, with a Roi Et-registered licence plate, was hit by train No. 41 (Bangkok-Yala) on a railway crossing between Nong Chorakhe and Khlong Wang Chang villages in Tambon Chongkho of Pathiu district.

Winyoo Namprapa, the driver, said he was driving the pick-up from Nakhon Nayok province to deliver trees to a client at the Chumphon airport.

Since he was not familiar with roads to the airport, he opened the GPS and followed a route guided by the system through a village.

At a railway crossing, which does not have a safety railing, a wheel of the pick-up got stuck on the rail track.

The pick-up was hit by the oncoming train and dragged about 200 metres from the spot. The pick-up was badly damaged.

Mr Winyoo said he was not hurt because he managed to jump off before his pick-up was hit by the train.

A GPS system guided this poor man onto a railway track. This is outragous. Did it have artificial intelligence?

Has the gps system gone rogue and is purposely killing humans in an effort to rule the world?

Electric cars are next, operated by gps and self drive super chips. We're all going to be driven onto rail tracks. The AI car is here. No one is safe anymore!

For a wheel to get stuck in the tracks, it's safe to assume this imbecile was driving down the line. Not his fault of course, it was the GPS that told him to drive down the tracks and no Thai would ever do something so totally fucking retarded on his/her own accord .

    1. Dozy Driver Takes GPS Directions Onto a Railway Line

Satlegh Mohammadi drove down 6 meters of railway line after telling the police officers responding to the scene that his sat nav and GPS has directed him to do so. Thankfully for Satlegh (surely that name is made up?), alert railway workers saw him careering down the tracks in his small Ford Fiesta and were able to phone the local constabulary in the UK.

The dozy driver told police that the sat nav had told him to take a right at the level crossing – in mitigation though (for the sat nav, not him), he was found to be under the influence of alcohol whilst driving which might go some way to explaining this GPS disaster.

    Here's another Thai one.

I would bet money that he saw the railway line as a quicker route than the one indicated....
