A 30-year-old pregnant female passenger was killed after she fell onto the rail tracks of the Airport Rail Link at Ban Tub Chang station as the train arrived this morning.
The incident forced the ARL rail service to cease operation temporarily.
It was not immediately known if the woman fell onto the track as the train arrived at the station accidentally or not.
The woman was also seen waiting for the arrival of the train along with other passengers on the waiting line.
But as the train reached the station, she felt off the platform onto the tracks when the train came close in.
The train driver pulled the braking system but could not stop the train in time as it was too close.
The police were investigating the incident.
The incident which happened at 7.00 am forced ARL to suspend the service temporarily.
The service suspension stranded hundreds of morning commuters at stations along the route.
However after almost half an hour, ARL resumed service only from Phayathai station to Hua Mark, and from Suvarnabhumi station to Lad Krabang.
Passengers are transferred on buses from Lad Krabang to Hua Mark to continue their trips to either Phyathai or Suvarnabhumi.
By 10.30 am, the service was still not back to normal service, pending forensic inspection by the police of her body at the station.
At 11.20 am, Airport Rail Link announced that its service return to normal.
