Comedian's Son Still Not Charged For Fatal Car Crash

    Teeranai Charuvastra
    Khao Sod English

PATHUM THANI — Police said Wednesday they had yet to charge or even question the son of a famous actor involved in a fatal high-speed auto accident earlier this week.

Kittiphum Iamsook, 28, slammed his BMW into another car at a U-turn in Pathum Thani on Monday, killing a 47-year-old engineer inside. Kittiphum was still in the hospital Wednesday for what are said to be minor injuries to his arms and chest, while his father publicly apologized on his behalf.

^ No need to disrespect their culture.

I suppose that 19 yr old that sliced that lao girl in half with his dad's porsche and drove on for 10km with her upperbody on the passenger seat, before calling his dad who told him to call the police and report it stolen, a few years ago, is out and about on the Bkk Champagne, coke and Blue Label circuit nowadays too.

In hindsight, some of us will have guilt/regret that we did not have the facilities to utilize available assets to assist our own personal needs. In hindsight, are we all so altruistic?

The victim was sober? Because when making a U-turn, I look if there is a car coming, if I'm not sure I have enough time to make this manoeuvre I wait ... the speeding has to be proven by experts (gross evaluation according to video and damages to the car) until then there are few reason to charge the driver unless alcohol test is positive (usually conducted on site or at the hospital)... the compensation proposition is either a PR move by the father who can't afford being labeled insensitive (playing comical characters) or an admission of his son's wrongdoing (which extent remains to be determined)

Class-distinction/elitist still rules within a highly structured class-oriented culture.
Nothing will change for the better until the masses deem it so.

He admitted speeding, then by the video I reckon a 50/50 in matter of responsibilities, as the engineer shouldn't have cut in front of the other car ...

my wife told me that she read the comedian has scheduled a meeting with the family to decide on how much it's going to cost him.

btw, she also showed me a video of the son crying at the funeral. he did seem upset, but it was a transparent PR move.

Did he even go to prison?

I seem to remember him pitching up at a temple and handing the dead girl's parents 500K, while slicing a small onion to produce some convincing-looking tears.

Nope and the little shit would only turn up at the police station whenever it suited the family's schedule.

It was probably the case that made me aware of just how utterly unjust this country truly was and how it could never be anything other than medieval.

Incredibly, I still encounter foreign diplomatic staff who actually spout the total guff about how important it is to engage in best practice in their dealings with their own nationals when meeting the requirements of Thai law and practice. Usually, I try to be polite but lately I have come to realise one simply should just laugh in their faces and treat them with the disdain they deserve.

It's that fat blokes son, one of the Isaan Comics you see every day knocking custard pies over with Mum and Tokay.

I can't imagine him being that powerful and mega wealthy. Probably got some money tucked away, but not exactly an Illuminati type, pulling the strings.
