Foreign tourist found dead in toilets of train heading to Bangkok

Railway cleaners at Hualampong train Station got a nasty shock yesterday afternoon when they fetched a key to open a toilet door that was locked on the inside.

In the toilet they found the lifeless body of a foreign female tourist aged about 25 who had apparently hanged herself from a handle on the back of the door.

Police were called to the station and investigated the scene on the Lampang to Bangkok train. The woman was clothed and there was a bag containing cosmetics next to her.

She had fresh needle marks on her left arm and signs of lacerations to her right wrist. There was one US banknote in her pocket.

The train had left Lampang on Wednesday at 10am and reached Bangkok at 5.20am. There it was believed that all the passengers had alighted.

Cleaners boarded the train in the early afternoon before the train was scheduled to return to the north. Then the discovery of the body was made.
The body was sent for autopsy and police are checking for reports of foreigners reported missing. They hope to find a trace of the dead woman on CCTV to help with identifying her through her ticket purchase.

There was no ID on the body.

Police believe she committed suicide in the toilet.

Easy, seen many suicides in the prison service by people who simply tied a sheet or cloth to a point and sat down.
Not a hanging in the sense of broken neck, just cuts off blood flow to the brain, pass out and die.

I imagine it would take a lot of willpower, given that the person can just put their feet under them and start breathing at any point.

A bit like trying to drown yourself in the kiddie pool

No ID on the body could indicate robbery. ..

Not the same as strangulation, or drowning, just blood loss to the brain.

Pilots in fast turns, dizziness when standing up fast, blood loss to the brain you pass out in seconds, blood flow doesn't start up again you die.

Not a bad way to commit suicide, seen a lot worse ways.

IMO you mentally need to move some where to where you hope people do not commit suicide

"Dangerous Thailand " even train toilets are a hazard.

Not the least bit odd as she either chucked her "stuff" out of the window or flushed it down the bog. She had lost the will to live and did away with herself and her identity.

Poor girl...RIP...
