Thread: Mother admits beating up one of her twin daughters out of anger

The mother of five-year old twin girls has admitted that she beat up one of them out of stress and desperation because she does not speak like the other children of her age, said Mrs Paveena Hongsakula of Paveena Hongsakula Foundation, on Sunday.

Mrs Paveena went to Bangkaew district police station in Samut Prakan on Sunday to visit the mother who was held in the police custody on assault charge after a two-minute video clip showing the woman beating up one of her twin daughters was uploaded in the social media and quickly went viral.

The footage shows the woman pulling the hair of a girl and pointing a knife on her face. Then the woman uses the handle of a broom to hit the girl three times while threatening to use the knife to cut her tongue.

The woman whose name was withheld told Mrs Paveena that the twin girls were raised by her mother-in-law in Surin province until about eight months ago when her husband took the girls back to their own home in Samut Prakan for upbringing.

After the incident, the father of the twin girls said he would have them sent back to his mother in Surin.

Pol Col Vichit Boonchinwutthikul, superintendent of Bangkaew police, said the two twin girls would undergo medical checkup to find out whether they suffer serious wounds from the alleged beatings.

I watched the clip then make me feel very sad...the reason cuz her child not speak? people say the mum beating her child more than in clip in other day...

Fook that mother should be jailed for doing that to a 5 year old , terrible mother fooking dirtbag .

Very sad that children can have a mother like this. She is a disgrace to every decent mother and should be forcibly sterilised. I hope she goes to gaol. Sadly this sort of thing happens in every country.

There is a difference between abuse and discipline...this is abuse. The physical is the easiest to get over, but an experience like this can be extremely traumatic to a child

My take on it is that the girl speaks a different dialect.

They grew up in Surin so probably speak like people in Surin rather than people in Samut Prakan.

Whatever the reason for the beating it does not absolve the mother for being a cnut.

Ahh brings back fond childhood memories...

If a child speak dialect mum would understand but the mum said she got mad when she asked something to child she do not answer...and she said used knife just for threaten a child cuz want she speak or answer her question...so I think a child just talk less or scared something ...bad mum...

Dialect, don't think it would have mattered, she's unhinged .

The thing that disturbs me aside from the atrocious treatment, is the child just got up, put the broom away, wiped her feet and went inside. She didn't appear to be wiping her eyes, or scared and seemed to just treat the whole incident as normal.

That woman is crazy. She's traumatizing her daughter, and hurting her..... those type of wounds sometimes never truly heal.

Just mental problems...the mum need a doctor...
