It was just an indication of loyalty
It's an indication of how likely you think you are to get into a fight and that is presumably at least partly a reflection of your tendency to violence.
wouldn't you help your mates in trouble PT?
Trouble for me is not having enough money, or splitting up with a partner, or getting a bad illness, or getting the sack. It's not getting into a fight.

I have. Friends of my brothers in law who have become my friends over the years.

    Good people.

Cool, Jeff... good to hear bro.

One of my best mates in Thailand, was a black dude, outcast from Thai and Farang society.. very funny guy (and popular with the ladies).

And how can an outcast from Thai and farang society be popular with ladies?

    Ladies from where?

    Almost 'jeffesque'.

Heh...Thegent, but the wingman really is a "she," and that's the cruelest use of quotation marks you'll get from me...Or so thegent says...That he's a she...Heh...

And yeah, I've had time to think about it, and I do have some fairly close Thai friends here...And some who weren't Thai, I consider friends as well, and I am sure the feeling is reciprocated...

Guess I'm just a lucky guy...

When I needed help they were there...And didn't need an explanation on how I got in so much shit...

And naturally laughed about it later...

Like a friend, anywhere, the test is when you smile at the memory of them and you would enjoy seeing them again...

Probably the hardest thing was lack of in-depth conversation where friendship can increase, but music and sport helps significantly, as does emergency or tragedy...

ya got me, it's midnight past my bedtime...

past tense no? lost contact with him - last I heard he was teaching in the sticks (Petchaboon).

I think he's still black - unless he's been using skin lightening pills/creams.

thai culture - he does not think of women as part of society, so they are not included and quite right!

The incident happened one block from the main Police station, loads of BIB on duty pissing about with talc and water guns instead of doing their job.

Royal Hau Hin a supposed Haven for expats, tourists and pensioners.

The police only arrested the culprits when the video went viral so they could protect their face and tourist industry.

Thailand needs to make a very public example of attacks like these which are becoming more common and quell the anti foreigner sentiment among young Thai males, otherwise the tourist industry will suffer which is 10% of Thailands GDP.

The suffering [more like 4% towards the GDP] will never develop.
    People will come, regardless.

Every time there is an isolated instance of this nature, the concerned [not really] cry up a storm about the loss of tourist revenue, bad cultural image, blah - yet, they continue to arrive in droves.

I believe that this so called anti-foreigner sentiment is an invention by particular vested circles - more a myth than anything.

As posted above, they got the fourth one, and they appear in court on June 3rd; it's being fast-tracked, presumably because of the damage to Thailand's "reputation".

I'm not sure how you damage a reputation of being a corrupt shithole populated by a bunch of violent, thieving chimps, but there you go.

Thai Gdp is $420 bill US. 25 million tourists spending on average $2000 works out at $50bn or 11.9%.

A lot of spending in Thailand by tourists is via markets which wouldnt show up in any official figures then you have bargirls.

Even the money spent in 7/11s, bars and restaurants wouldnt be counted. These places arent writing down "farang" on the receipts.

Don't be ridiculous. We can all form sentimental attachments to our pets or favourite rocks, shoes and even cars, but no-one would ever dream of describing them as friends or brothers.

No farang seized of a functioning brain, of any persuasion, would or could construct a worthwhile and meaningful relationship of any note with a Thai male unless he had been raised and educated in a western state, and even then it is probably doubtful.

Thai men are uniquely repellent and there it is. I recall some years ago a conversation I had with a group of Malaysians (in real English, I hasten to add ) I met in a Penang hotel bar where I passed a very pleasant evening. The conversation turned to the topic of how they viewed Thailand and the Thai given they were their closest neighbours. To a man they all agreed that although they enjoyed the shopping there and fucking their women, they considered Thai men to be " all fucking crazy" and fundamentally incomprehensible.

Thai are really a joke to many Asians and their only value is their corruption and the production of a wealth created thereby which in most other more conventional countries would be impossible and yields a dividend not otherwise available.

Thai thuggery is simply a fact of life and not a day passes in the country where its violence is not demonstrated in all its graphic and imbecilic glory.
