Hans, maybe I'm, missing the point?
Umm, err ... what actually is your point?
Driving on Thai roads ... actually any roads on this planet have their relevant inherent risks.
There is little point i policing the 7 deadly days of new year, when it has zero impact on accident rates, and the other 358 days are just as bad.
He is pointing out the Thai's drive like shit. In fact the 2nd most road fatalities per year in the world. Dont try and say the Thai's drive well.Originally Posted by David48atTD

There's a Facebook page called Bad Driving Thailand. It's regularly updated with photos and dash-cam footage of fuckwittery on the roads at its finest. To say it's alarming would be an understatement...

The never ending story.
Aging one, I appreciate your thread count, but it doesn't give you the right to tell me what to say or imply that your opinion on driving is superior to mine.
Thai driving is, what Thai driving is. It's how the Thai's drive.
A smart driver, when driving in different countries adapts to local conditions.
If you drive in Thailand like you do in the West, issues will arise.
Same as if you are from the USA and drive, with that style in say a country like Germany. You will get hammered.
I used to drive professionally, well, 'ride' actually. I was a motorcycle courier.
Worked in London, Australia, rode all through a lot of Europe.
Cycled many places also.
Drove/rode in the States, Ireland, the list continues.
One common theme carried through. Learn how the locals drive, adapt your style to suit.
Not for a moment am I saying that Thai drivers are good, bad or indifferent ... I don't judge them.
I just try and learn how to drive here and adapt.
Your comment about Thai's having the second worst fatality index in the World is, well ... questionable.
How about posting the official stats to back the claim.
Having enjoyed motoring in both Cambodia and Russia/Ukraine I might suggest that their death rate per 1,000 drivers might shade Thailand.
BTW, I'm not from England, but I'll tip my hat to them, well, the Londoners anyway.
What they excelled in was adaptive driving.
That's my personal experience, others may vary from this.
