Time share king found dead in Phuket

I knew this man who ran Spanish time share industry with a rod of iron and fear over 25 years ago RIP

PHUKET: A 58-year-old British national was found dead at his home in Phuket yesterday.

Police and rescue workers arrived on the scene in Srisoonthorn at about 3:30pm to find the body of Dennis Arthur New.

“We believe Mr New had been dead for about 10 hours before we arrived. There was no sign of a struggle,” Lt Kraisorn Boonprasop of the Thalang Police told the Phuket Gazette.

Police were notified of the death by Lee Hunt, a friend of Mr New who lives in Patong, said Lt Kraisorn.

“Mr Hunt told officers that Mr New had been living in Thailand for a year, working in the condominium construction business. He was staying in Phuket with his wife and daughter,” Lt Kraisorn explained.

“His family had left for England on Sunday.”

Mr Hunt told police that he had been contacted by Mr New’s wife yesterday, after she had been unable to reach him, and that she had asked him to go and make sure that Mr New was okay.

“Mr Hunt found Mr New’s body at about 2pm, and immediately called police, then Mr New’s wife,” Lt Kraisorn said.

According to Mr hunt, Mr New suffered from a history of heart problems and high-blood pressure.

“We believe that he died as a result of his medical condition. However, we are waiting on hospital staff to confirm the cause of death,” Lt Kraisorn said.

Mr New’s body was taken to Thalang Hospital.

Another British gangster who moved from Spain to Thailand.

The Thai do love them it seems and relish the prospect of sharing in their frauds. The victims are all foreigners so it's a perfect fit for the Thai who see no downside in these scams in much the same way they rake in millions from the boiler room thefts, ripping off farang worldwide.

Still, nice to see one croak it. It's been a good week so far, what with Glendon Bullard shuffling off his carcass.

I wonder which one of the many scumbags will die next.

^ & ^^^ Drawing conclusions from titbits of info on the web, hmmm.

Mad Dennis as he was affectionately known back in the day brought order to the wild west that was the time share industry in the late 80's.

There are now hundreds of thousands of happy owners and employees which is testament and a legacy to the shrewd business man that he was.

    Taken too soon

    RIP MD

Lee Hunt, his matey, is linked to Ocean Blue Marketing and the Asian Travel Club, a two bit timeshare shyster outfit employing Euro, American And Russian trash pressurizing the naive.

Scum and the poor relations to the boiler room filth and investment/ assurance dickheads who infest lower Sukhumvit.

Definitely on a roll with the grim reaper scything his way and the Septics sorting out their wanted list.

^Sounds like the industry in Thailand needs a new MD to spring clean it.

Sadly that old school strength of character, astuteness and presence seem to be in short supply in Thailand's expat business comunity.

I doubt any of the esteemed gentleman on here own any time share deals .
We own huge houses in Nakon, not pokey little shite hole complexes in a time share scam.

Time share in an ideal world with low marketing costs and maintenance charges is a fantastic concept.

No, pyramid selling is the best concept.

Might I interest you in my Yala development? Get in on the ground floor, so to speak and huge profits to be made when the current unpleasantness evaporates. The Aga Khan's son is a major investor as indeed is the Sultan of Borneo.

Drop me a PM and I'll get my lawyers, Steele, Cheetham & Howe to send you over some papers.

time share developments are mostly run by criminal filth, built with money gained from the proceeds of crimes elsewhere , the operational machine being sold and worked by low life meatheads preying on the naivety of expats who think if the sun is shining and the price is cheap it must be a happy happy day and nothing can possibly go wrong.

Why would an expat buy into timeshare?
Don't expats by definition want to live overseas full time?

I think he means the witless tourists on two week holidays who let themselves be railroaded.

Time share is a good concept.

Eg: 25 Teakdoor member each put £5000 into a kitty and buy a nice villa in Hau Hin, Thailand complete with pool near the beach for £125k. each getting a randomly selected two week slot in the calender.
The remaining 2 weeks is designated for the annual maintenance.
Your investment will grow in value and you can sell, rent and will it
    Everyone's a chicken dinner.

Or you can house swop which is another type of timeshare.

The time share that got the bad reputation back in the day was a 200 apartment complex sold at 52 weeks of the year. Prices for weeks reflected the time of year - low, med, high season.
Selling on average at £5k per week with an annual maintenance fee of £200.

    So we have £5000 x 52weeks x 200apartments = £52million
Then the maintenance fee goes up every year,Some maintenance fees are £800pw now
The above figures where an average 25 years ago.

Time share scum is as sorely missed as Boiler room scum, or Israeli settler scum, or any other form of pond scum.
