Didn't work too well then, did it?

And you reckon it's everyone else who's thick.

For you it's black and white every time isn't it.

    Farang = Victim.

    Now that's thick!

who formerly worked at Pines Lakes leisure complex near Carnforth, took up the ‘job’ in Thailand when he was made redundant from Pontins.

Nobody ever get's made redundant from Pontins!
BTW there is no Pontins in Carnforth.

Looking on the bright side, he get's to spend Xmas in his 90 year old mothers static caravan in Heysham..

Don't do business in Thailand if you are not rich enough to pay your way out...

Many websites sell steroids from Thailand and they seem fine <3

Same old story innit, wanna get involved in games over here you must pay the man when busted. Easy as that.

Regards his weight loss, I'd say its quite a bonus, being a fat bastard ain't going to be good for you.

Bet he don't stay lean for long though.
Why are you folk so simplistic? Is it a lack of intelligence? Or perhaps you think,,still, there is a rule of law in Thailand. There isn't. It's a farce and means of extortion, especially against farang. They were doing nothing more illegal than any Thai has been. The police moved in for a bung but got a patsy without a pot to piss in. He got hung out to dry. The entire country is littered with illegal viagara sellers,,whether it is on the streets or in druggists. Christ, a fucking huge boiler room operation stealing millions of dollars has been operating blatantly in Thailand for 10 years. Where" s your sanctimonious claptrap there?

The guy was screwed. The offences if applied to Thai would have seen a suspended sentence at worst.

    Get real, fah Chrissakes.
    Yeah.. ya right Gent.

Triple standards and smoke and mirrors is the Thai way.

However, McChav knew the risks no-doubt and got bagged none the less.

Survival of the fittest and all that.

Anyway, he won't be doing that again in a hurry

The Thai police visited the man who ran the website and demanded thousands of pounds. When he did not pay them, they arrested me two weeks later, while he was out of the country.

after his "friend" had not paid the police, any man with even one functioning brain cell, not two, not three, but just one, would have known that trouble was not too far away and that now would be a good time to perhaps lie low, leave the country or cease operations.

i think he has just figured it out.

All I can say is what a cvnt of a 'mate' this bloke had, a few quid would have got him out and his 'mate' leaves him to rot for 3 years in a Thai jail, if I was him being 61 looking 91 and basically life over I'd just go and kill the cvnt and let the British prison system take care of me for rest of my life, get better medical treatment in prison, own cell with satellite tv etc. might aswell go for it considering his future life options.

I don't believe there ever was a 'friend' that went abroad and left him to carry the can.

    Look at the haul..

not exactly big time is it.. only takes one bloke to answer the emails, package the gear and make sure the money goes in the bank. I can understand him trying it on in the hope of getting a lesser sentence, but you'd be daft to belive this was anything other than a small time setup that couldn't cough up enough to pay the BiB.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Given there was no crime in actuality, there is no functioning rule of law in Thailand, this poor wretch was guilty of nothing other than being a patsy in a power play scam between the mafia and his employer. His conviction was just collateral damage and had bugger all to do with protecting Thai society.

Extraordinary the number of so-called experts on Thailand who can't seem think in terms other than those embraced by the witless ingenue clutching his Lonely Planet ( Fuckwit Edition ) whilst spouting sanctimonious drivel of no relevance.

    Buy-Steroids-Direct-Asia.com Busted in Thailand

The Pattaya Police Crime Suppression Division arrested a British citizen for his involvement in an online website selling anabolic steroids and sexual enhancement drugs at Buy-Steroids-Direct-Asia.com. Neil Patterson-Hartley was arrested in Thailand on November 3, 2011 after a lengthy investigation into the website. Pattaya Police decided to arrest him after they failed to capture his boss a month earlier.
The police investigation originally targeted Chris Ireland (also known as “Daff”), the alleged owner of Buy-Steroids-Direct-Asia.com. A Pattaya provincial court granted police a search warrant to raid a condominium owned by Ireland on October 8, 2011. Ireland eluded police and was thought to have left Thailand. It is believed that Ireland resides in Ukraine.
While Ireland escaped, police were able to seize over $300,000 of various oral and injectable anabolic steroids and sexual enhancement drugs stored in the condominium office. Computers and customer databases were also seized from two additional properties raided by police.
A preliminary review of the revenue and expense reports indicate the Buy-Steroids-Direct-Asia.com operation allegedly sold close to $100,000 in steroids and other drugs each month. The business had been in operation for approximately three years. The seized records identified the majority of the customers as living in the United States and England.
Patterson-Hartley, who worked for and was directed by Ireland, was charged with possession of conventional medicines for sale without a license, and the illegal possession of psychotropic substances.
he was caught with a big haul :

Brit charged with peddling sex drugs, steroids online

Friday, 11 November 2011 From Issue Vol. XIX No. 45 By Boonlua Chatree

A British man was arrested for allegedly helping a foreign website operator market nearly 10 million baht in illegal steroids, sedatives and sexual-performance drugs.

Neil Patterson Hartley, 58, was taken into custody at the Mickey Beer Bar on Soi Buakaow Nov. 4. In a later raid of his View Talay 6 condominium office, Bangkok Crime Suppression Division investigators discovered a pharmacy’s worth of drugs being packaged for overseas distribution.

Police hunted down and arrested Hartley at a beer bar complex in central Pattaya.
Among the contraband were sexual-performance drugs Kamagra jelly, Levitra, and Viagra. Police said several of these were branded copies of the actual drug. Also in the office were sleeping pills and stronger sedatives such as diazepam. Most were packed in bottles or envelopes ready for distribution. Investigators also uncovered a cache of illegal steroids, including HG521c.
Hartley was charged with purchase, concealment and distribution of illegal narcotics, import-export violations, pharmaceutical-license offenses and working without a work permit.
Police allege Hartley was behind a website marketing the drugs to overseas customers. The suspect denied he owned the website, saying it was operated by a Keith Ireland, who was out of the country. The website reportedly was registered in Uzbekistan.
Website company staffer Jariya Paromphao, who opened the door for investigators, told police the drugs were all purchased inside Thailand.
Investigators raided a second office and uncovered additional drugs, plus financial records indicating Hartley earned as much as 3 million baht per year.

This article was published in the Pattaya Mail newspaper on Friday November 11, 2011 (Vol. XIX No. 45).
