Briton Dies In Pattaya During Thai Massage

    Khaosod English
    November 21, 2014

A British man died of heart attack as he was receiving a Thai traditional massage in the resort town of Pattaya yesterday, police say.

Natpassorn Paladma, a masseur at Aura Massage in Soi Bua Kao, said she was giving a traditional massage to the 81-year-old Briton when he suddenly "went into seizure," and fell unconscious.

Natpassorn said she immediately alerted the emergency responders but it was too late. Police officers say no wound or injury were found on the Briton's body.

Khaosod English is withholding the name of the deceased until it is confirmed that his family has been notified.

Police believe the Briton went into cardiac arrest during the massage. His body has been sent to a hospital for autopsy, police added.

In the end, no. Possible difference being dying due to a painfully strong traditional Thai massage, or due to the excitement brought on by a happy ending. Given the locale, there is a high probability of the latter and hopefully that's the way he went.

    R.I.P. either way.

^ Either way, that's not the legacy I'd like to leave for my daughter and the rest of my family.

    I understand your viewpoint.

To me, it beats going in many other ways; languishing in a nursing home, stuck in some frigid place with no one else, getting run down crossing the road, etc.

Way to go ,, good ol boy R I P

The worrying thing is I was actually thinking to myself about my own demise a bit further down the line ,, and this was the happiest ending I could surmise

I was wondering the same; if the latter, at 81, not the end of the world...

If it were a full blown Thai massage then I'd think there may be grounds for a charge of manslaughter. Old boys with circulation problems and the rest would be mad to subject themselves to a Wat Pho battering, especially administered by a lumpen Isaan lass whose knowledge of the human physiology is limited to which end to stick her somtam in.

Still, one can't rule out suicide.

traditional thai massage, if indeed that was what he was enduring, is enough to give anyone a heart attack.

the twisting, turning, poking and pummelling can be quite painful and the strain it exerts on joints and tendons is nothing if not downright dangerous to a man of that age.

wouldnt surprise me if he collapsed due to sudden loss of blood circulation to the brain during one of the neck twisting maneuvers so beloved of the fearful practitioners of this black art.

doubt if a hand job or a chewie would have killed him.
