Still can not get over bliar and Khun Polpot shaking hands. You know it is all a load of shit the moment that coont turns up.
Anyway - case not accepted yet and no matter how much gaffer tape the cops put on their fabricated load of lies, it seems the prosecutors want no part in this stitch up.
Could have been worse, Jimmy Carter...:rolleyes:Quote:

The Myanmar embassy has asked Thai police to reopen the investigation into the murder of two British tourists on Koh Tao.
Lawyer Aung Myo Thant told the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) that the embassy made the request to the Thai Justice Ministry on Monday evening, on the basis the confessions by Myanmar suspects Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun were obtained through torture.
"The kids [Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun] have told the National Human Rights Commission, the lawyers, our embassy team and their parents on each occasion that they were beaten by police," he said. "Therefore, we have requested that a special team be formed to re-investigate the case. We presented a formal letter of request to a ministry official."
Aung Myo Thant said he and the embassy team met members of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, the NHRC and the suspects' parents on Monday.
A representative of the NHRC called on police to answer the allegations of torture during the interrogation process, but the police failed to show up at the meeting, said Myanmar embassy team member Kyaw Thaung of the Myanmar Association in Thailand.
"The NHRC asked the Thai Lawyers Council and ourselves to present any information we had," he told the DVB. "They also requested any evidence that contradicts the DNA tests. We exchanged information about the details of the case."

^ Never going to happen. They have spent a few weeks now shoe horning bullshit into being a case that with a few back handers the court will use to hang these boys. Its all for the good of Thai Tourism numbers don't you forget and has fuck all to do with solving a crime and getting 2-3 nasty killers off the street.
The RTP are certainly going to have to spread the wealth if the prosecutors and then judiciary are going to go along with it, unless they receive orders from above to do so. This case is now poison to the Thais being put on it. The prosecutors don't want to touch it, and if it does get them behind it, the judges will need big envelopes to be the ones publicly convicting them.
The real murderers will never be held responsible and charged by the RTP, so they will be desperate for this crime to have convictions and not go unsolved so publicly. They better have their cheque books out 'cause this is going to cost them big, if it is even possible to do so with this much global exposure.
Gen P is going to have to sacrifice Police Gen Somyot if he wants this to end well for Thailand.

I would say it was about time Gen P got real.
This won't just blow over and go away. Every little problem that happens to a tourist will now be reported. That exotic far-away place that every backpacker wants to visit will be a blot on the tourist map.
It isn't just this, Thailand is in the news and it ain't ever good. Andy Hall's case - the Oz kid getting a new mouth on Samui, the trafficking of Rohingya , the Burmese slaves on fishing boats, the coup. What could possibly top it all for the year's end?
^ The worlds biggest human Christmas tree made of green toilet paper at the Final Grand Shopping Amazing Ultimate Bonanza Midnight Sale in Siam Parabollocks. The quality tourists will be flocking to that one yeah.
Tourist numbers will set another record next year.Quote:

People who want to visit Thailand don't suddenly decide not to because out of 10 million tourists 2 backpackers were murdered on a drunken night out and 2 migrants blamed by the police.
Look at the airport shutdown, the armed clashes on the streets, military curfew, no problem.
You would imagine that foreign investment would decline, but tourists, they're still all sold on the white sand, blue skies and palm trees.
^
Of course you are quite correct. The death of these two Back Packers wont make a thimble full of difference regards tourists coming to Thailand.
Travel has its inherent dangers such as crossing the road in ones home town or being murdered in ones own city.
People get murdered every day all over the world.
Travelers love Thailand regardless of what the few fear mongers say, High season is very close and Tao will be Rammed full.
No doubt about that.
Thailand has a cult status among travellers young and old alike.
All ways has done and probably always will.
It's all part of the experience and most are switched on due to the stories.
I have noticed a few of my friends recently have opted out of visiting Thailand in favour of other Asian destinations due to bad press.
So Thailand really does need to pull it's finger out and provide transparency and justice for the murdered backpackers, i fear this will never happen from the top so has to start at the grass roots.
Over 400k Thais on CSI LA looks like a good start..

What's the deal with guy posing with the hoe again?
I remember it being something like a few friends of the AC Bar owners pulling the piss out of the murders just after CSI LA got going on the case.
You forgot to add the English, the Australians, the Germans and all the rest of the nationalities that flock here.
You don't actually think the murder of two backpackers will make a pinch of difference to Thailand's tourist numbers do you ?
You do not know much about Thailand's history if that's the case.
Absolutely. I wish I'd had a dollar for every time the downfall of Thailand's tourist industry was predicted after some kind of "event". I could really have taken an early retirement....:)
We've had Tsunami's, floods, riots, BKK getting shot up by the army, drug purges, general mayhem, coups and more coups......the fokers just keep a coming regardless.... and most of the people who keep knocking the place continue to live here and remind us daily that its all coming apart.....go figure eh....:).
That's the new PM, na?...Quote:
