Right - so as it stands, Montriwat is still in custody, and the other guy in the jock pedo's picture was his nephew, who has since gone on the run. Would not the DNA evidence have picked up that the two samples came from closely related individuals?

We will see if/when they catch up to him and if he turns out to be a perp. Then they have to establish if Dad helped him or not. I don't think he is a "kid" and he had plenty of time to piss off while the BIB were measuring footprints, chasing farangs, Rohinga and whatnot.
If they find this guy and can't connect him to the crime with some kind of solid evidence, it's back to one suspect with as yet undisclosed evidence connecting him...... A bit of waterboarding may be in order.....:)
A bit off topic, but this little news item would seem to suggest that the BIB are not entirely above the law, or untouchable.
BANGKOK: -- THREE POLICEMEN have been sentenced to life in prison for drug trafficking and using a police vehicle to deliver narcotics.
The court yesterday found 2nd Lieutenant Jittipong Sochai, 44; Pol Snr Sgt-Major Attapon Khamsaen, 44; and Pol Lt-Colonel Thammanoon Nakbua, 42; guilty of having methamphetamine in their possession with intent to sell, as well as carrying guns in a public place.
They were stationed at a police station in the northern province of Nan at the time of the crime.
The three were intercepted in the Central province of Ayutthaya on December 13, 2012, while driving a police pick-up truck. They were found carrying a million methamphetamine tablets.
But the court decided to commute their death terms to life imprisonment as it found some of their statements useful.
