Well I for one as an expat hope that the coup's main initial purpose was to clear out corruption from all guilty of any colour or persuasion.
Hopefully the forensic accountants grilling Prayuth's guests are up to the task - they've got seven days to uncover some part of the money trails.
Everyone would be pleased to see that.Originally Posted by Evilbaz

^ Just skeptical because it's all about money and power with the Thai army, they have never shown any interest in abiding by the laws of the land, they exist outside them.
I would be delighted to be wrong.

Thanks and appreciation to Mid for his efforts in posting news as it emerges.
Very much appreciate the information and hope you can keep it up.
Thanks.
My guess is we can expect increasing censorship as opposition grows and I suspect we are in for possibly years of military government.
This could be a long term coupe.
No-one at Ploenchit right now. Everything as normal.

BBC News - Thailand coup: Protests continue despite army warningOriginally Posted by Jonathan Head, BBC News, Bangkok
I haven't seen many of Jonathan's stories who is usually pretty spot on - while Jonah or Joshua or whoever seems a bit out of his depth.. a bad time to be entering the learning curve.
I admire the resolve of these protesters. The consequences for them if arrested will be pretty dire. The only hope is that with the rest of the country looking on and the international community already expressing disapproval the junta will find it awkward to just ' make them disappear ' .... never to return, as has often happened in the past.
This being the case, the protesters could easily increase their numbers and bring out the thousands of ordinary Thais who up until now have not joined either faction. A lot of people take their vote very seriously.

BANGKOK — Several thousand Thais rallied around Bangkok’s Victory Monument yesterday in the growing protest movement against the military coup d’etat staged last Thursday.
There was a noticeably light presence of military and police personnel, who were greatly outnumbered by demonstrators. The rally was one of several staged throughout the country on Sunday and was largely peaceful, save for a brief confrontation between soldiers and protesters underneath the Victory Monument BTS station that ended with both sides retreating.
