I do not see anything wrong with the poster or TV advert really.
Do you think we can stop people from being racist not all of them ever but in the future with all the inter marriage maybe in 10,000 yrs or so we will all be the same color...
And the color of you skin does not make you who you are that is through upbringing and education.

I'd put money on it being a dogooder white clown that decided it was and if you ask any black people they'd see nothing wrong at all...
How can racialism be combatted when Niggers, Niggaz or Niggahs go around calling each other Nigger, Nigga, or Niggah?
They should use a picture of a fat American cop to sell donuts.
doesn't HRW deputy Asia director have better things to do like exposing actual Human abuses in the region like Cambodia or Burma ?Originally Posted by Mid

What a stupid over-reaction. She eats a chocolate donut and loves it so much on the second bite she becomes chocolate herself. I guess the company figured they were just better off just yanking it than trying to explain the simple idea to the shrieking minority.
Dunkin donuts should have an ad for a hansum man donut in the usa featuring a tattood pole dancing slant eyed buck toothed thick lipped brown girl in a bikini eating one and saying " me ruv you rong time" and see how long it takes the thais to complain.
Anyone who has been in Thailand for more than 24 hours and isn't thick as hell would know turning your skin dark on purpose is an inconceivably negative proposition and good marketing wouldn't even sniff at suggesting it. It's quite obvious--in an odd way, but eye of the beholder, I suppose--that this is an artistic statement that indicates the young woman likes the new donut so much that she unconsciously undergoes some kind of chameleon-like transformation to resemble the donut. IF it were racist, it would be racist in the Thai sense, and since that doesn't help DD's campaign to equate eating the charcoal donut with appearing as/changing to a hideously ugly peasant, WTF are these idiots talking about?
Do you recall some US Admiral or some such in a TV interview a few years ago where, in discussion about a test of a new weapon sinking a decoy ship, he said something like - "She went down faster than a Thai hooker"
The Thai Embassy in DC made a formal complaint.. too funny.
My mind is not for rent to any God or Government, There's no hope for your discontent - the changes are permanent!
^Wasn't that in the movie Snakes On A Plane?
Is this racist too?
Human rights make money from complaining about these trivia matters.
Seriously, this is not "black face" as depicted in the old South.Dunkin’ Donuts draws rebuke over ‘racist’ ad campaign in Thailand

BANGKOK: A leading human rights group has called on Dunkin’ Donuts to withdraw a “bizarre and racist” advertisement for chocolate doughnuts in Thailand showing a woman with bright pink lips in blackface makeup.
The Dunkin’ Donuts franchise in Thailand launched a campaign earlier this month for its new “Charcoal Donut” featuring the image, which is reminiscent of 19th- and early 20th-century American stereotypes for black people that are now considered offensive symbols of a racist era.
I have read the title of this headline in several online newapapers, but not read it - until now.
Is this, the pic that is causing this "discussion?"
As for the original pic / ad - I do not seen racism at all.
What am I missing? Please tell me.
............
Sad world really,
you lot must take care with your tan, a shade to dark and your foked
^^Your not missing a thing really.
This imaginary can only really be seen as racism if your believe that the simple use of the color black with anything human or anything negative as racism. And I have come across a few people who so sincerely believe this, and I would describe them as a loud fringe group who seem to confuse xenophobia and racism which are two entirely different things.
In both the advert and the poster it is quite clear the colour has been derived from the doughnut that it is promoting. The only exploitation that is taking place here, is the exploitation of our brains hardwired interest in nopvelty. There is absolutely no way anyone who is not blind could walk past this distorted image of a face without giving it a look. Something artists and marketers have been exploiting for centuries.
What HRW have done here, is label a company and more importantly an artist as racist with absolutely nothing to back them up. McCarthyism at its worst, personally if I were that artist I would be going after HRW and those who made the claim for defamation... let them explain their rational to a jury and judge as a false accusation of racism is second only to pedophillia in terms of the harm it does a person.

You have to laugh
A company selling thoroughly unhealthy food uses a girl with a chocolate covered face to promote their product which will add to obesity and diabetes...and the only fuss is over racial undertones in their advertising.
was it a black dog that dropped that humungous turd on her head ?
