Bank Employee Dies from a Heart-Attack After Masturbating

A bank worker was found dead on his bed. Investigation officers presume that he died from heart-attack after he masturbated, as semen stains were found on his pants.
Nakorn Ratchasima – August 10, 2013 [PDN]; Phoklang Police officers were informed that a 50 year-old man was found dead in his house.

Simply saying that "a bank employee died in his bed from an apparent heart attack" would have shown more professionalism and human decency by both the Police and the media involved and covering the story.

Then there are this and the other news sources who insist on printing the name, age and nationality of crime victims (usually drugs in drinks) which result from short time sex workers. This gives the victim the choice of either accepting his loss and not reporting it, or call the police and risk having your name, mongering activity and picture permanently on the internet for everyone from your mother to your employer to see. In some of the Middle Eastern Countries such a report can possibly be life threatening. Victims who are afraid to report crimes leaves the girls and ladyboys who drug their victims free to do it again and again, and these overdoses can be fatal.


Maybe if more expats complained to the sources about this unprofessional journalism and complained to their advertisers, this abuse might stop. Even many of our posters self moderate their comments since the family of the deceased might read them, sadly the media does not have that level of empathy.

The advertisers are happy with it, headlines like that make their ads seen in the first place. '50 years old bank clerk dies from heart attack in his bed.' Yawn. Good point about the reporting of the names of crime victims, that might actually serve to discourage the report of crimes, and to improve the statistics. What gets me every time is the stupidity of the journalists. The page you link to has other links on the bottom, one reads "Car Crash Fatally Kills Teenage Girl". The driver fled the scene but, "he was identified after investigation officers were able to find out his license plate". Wow. That was solid investigative work by the police to track down the license plates on the crashed car in a shop with a corpse in it.

Good point, print all the nasty detail but leave the name out. Describing a person as a 55 year old American actually gives more information than his name would, yet does not harm him.

In response to the OP, salacious stories like this get hits (and that brings in advertisers), as there are a lot of deadbeats who enjoy reading them. The publication is writing it for their moronic online readership. If the readership matures, the publications wither and die - but we all know this won't happen.
