Bangkok Rescue Volunteer in shooting incident at South Pattaya Karaoke Bar

A Rescue Volunteer from Bangkok reportedly shot a Karaoke Bar Hostess in the stomach by accident in the early hours of Friday.
Police were called to the Disney Karaoke Bar located close to the Welcome Hotel on Pattaya Second Road just before 1am and arrested Khun Supachai aged 31 who volunteers for the Bangsue Rescue Foundation in Bangkok.
The victim of the shooting, Khun Pemapha aged 31, had already been taken to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital suffering from a single gun shot wound to her stomach. Her condition is described as serious.
Initially Khun Supachai claimed he knew senior Police Officers in Bangkok in an attempt to avoid arrest. Pattaya Police were having none of his story and took him to the Police Station where he claimed that the weapon was expelled by accident and he did not pull the trigger.
Although indications are the shooting was an accident the details of why and how the weapon was expelled are not clear at this time.
Khun Supachai is currently being held at Pattaya Police Station pending further investigations.
