Banglamung: Four-Year-Old Twin ‘Soul Mates’ Get Engaged

Four-Year-Old Twin ‘Soul Mates’ Get Engaged

On Valentine’s Day, a Pattaya millionaire held a grand engagement ceremony for his 4-year-old male and female twin children, because he and his wife believe they were lovers in past lives. According to ancient beliefs, the formal engagement would ensure their happiness in this life.

February 14, 2013 [PDN]; at 9:30 a.m., an engagement ceremony was held at Nongnooch Tropical Garden for the 4-year-old twin children of Mr. Wiritphol and Mrs. Mookdachanok Tangsongcharoen of Tambon Na Kleu, Amphur Banglamung.

The engagement ceremony joined the boy Mongkolsiri or Baiboon age 4, to his twin sister, Sirimongkol or Baibua, who were both born together on February 19, 2009. The ceremony took place at the heart field in Nongnooch Tropical Garden, Pattaya, Tambon Na Jomthien, Amphur Sattahip.

The male twin rode on the back of an elephant with the betel bowl procession, and the dowry that included cash for 2,999,999 THB, the title deed in the center of Pattaya for 3 plots worth more than 5 million THB, 2 sets of jewelry, and a gold necklace weight 40 THB; which together totaled more than 10 million THB.

Serving as witnesses to the wearing of the engagement rings ceremony were the Sattahip sheriff, Mr. Phawat Lertmookda; and Mrs. Phattanan Khantisukkhaphan, the general manager of Pattaya Nongnooch Tropical Garden. The interesting events brought gladness to the people who came to join the ceremony.

The mother of the twins, Mrs. Mookdachanok Tangsongcharoen, said she arranged to have the engagement after she learned that Nongnooch Tropical Garden has begun offering free wedding ceremonies for the bride and groom on the back of elephants on Valentine’s Day.

So this year for her twin daughter and son, she held the engagement ceremony on the back of elephants correctly, according to the ancient tradition, in which she believes that a family with male and female twins will have bad luck in their lives and may get sick or die early in life.

However, the family can solve the bad luck by the trick of setting up the engagement ceremony for its twins. The children will then have prosperous lives, longevity, and bring good luck to their parents, while the engagement will encourage and bring happiness to the relatives.

Mrs. Mookdachanok has observed that her children always have similar behavior and they love each other so much, that if they are ever separated and live far away from each other, they will be sick. They always go to the toilet at the same time; and they always stay together all the time; and when they sleep they will hug and sniff and kiss to each other. This has caused her to she believe that her twin children had been lovers in their last life.

So she decided to set up the grand engagement ceremony at Nongnooch, according to the ancient beliefs for the happiness of everyone in the family.
"Slavery is the daughter of darkness; an ignorant people is the blind instrument of its own destruction; ambition and intrigue take advantage of the credulity and inexperience of men who have no political, economic or civil knowledge. They mistake pure illusion for reality, license for freedom, treason for patriotism, vengeance for justice."-Simón Bolívar

Weird and sad that these two young children have been put in this position by their parent`s idiocy.

A nice way of getting some quick cash, I bet there were a lot of people falling over themselves to grovel up to the powerful old fool and enhance their standings by giving gifts of gold and such to the two little shits.

Cunning old bastard and you see how he gets rich.

Obviously as a tradition, this is something the Thai Cultural Ministry should be promoting worldwide. Maybe they should create some videos or something to put on youtube?

Dont think so. The revenue (and land) department is aware of that one! Anyway, there's no inheritance tax here, so why bother? Unless of course the 'giver' is in deep shit and suspects he's going to lose those assets in some way.
