Kiwi flees from fatal road crash in Central Pattaya

Posted on December 29, 2012 at 3:55 pm

A New Zealand national is wanted by Police after he was involved in a fatal road crash which left a South Pattaya Motorbike Taxi Driver dead.

Just after 2.30am Pattaya Police were called to Soi Diana Inn in front of the Diana Inn Hotel where rescue workers were attending to the taxi driver, Khun Priyadar aged 53 who is based on Walking Street. He was not breathing and was being given CPR. He was rushed to Hospital but was pronounced dead-on-arrival.

Police spoke with Khun Sumaree aged 32 who claimed she was on the back of a bike belonging to a New Zealander and the pair were on their way to Soi Neun Plab Wan in East Pattaya. She claimed the pair had met earlier in the night and she was unaware of the exact location of the man’s house.

Both bikes collided head-on and despite the fact it was a fairly low-speed collision it is thought the taxi driver fell awkwardly and may have broken his neck. Police will wait for the results of a postmortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death.

As soon as the crash occurred the foreign man decided to leave his companion on the street and drove off at-speed from the crash scene on his Honda Click motorbike displaying a red number-plate.

Police are now analyzing Security Camera images from the surrounding area as they hunt for the New Zealander.

They mistake pure illusion for reality, license for freedom, treason for patriotism, vengeance for justice."-Simón Bolívar

And why fucking Not? "the driver fled the scene" is very much in fashion here in Thailand after a serious accident , why is it such a big deal when a farang does just the same as they do ,total hypocrisy personified ,and to be truthful all they are getting is a bit of their own medicine ,and to even make a thread about this is at best a fucking joke

After checking and investigating the scene thoroughly, police will follow up to track down the foreigner to prosecute
on the basis he has already been found guilty, on the word of a 500 baht ****

all he did was leave the scene of an accident. never heard of that happening before in Thailand have we?

Yeah we all know how keen the Thai Police are to prosecute hit and run drivers or riders TOTALLY IRRESPECTIVE of their perceived "station " or wealth in life, "Thai justice" works equally well for rich or poor ,and of course for Thai and Farang alike

With respect you have quite a lot to learn! ,In the Farangs case you are automatically judged to be at fault ,witnesses will appear from out of the ground to swear by their holy Buddha to say you was to blame whatever the circumstances and HTF do you explain what happened to the police as to what took place? ,when (1) you do not speak fluent Thai) and (2) whatever you say they will not believe you any way) ,OK if you have a conscience by all means stay put and get nailed to the cross ,the "justice system" here in Thailand is totally non existent ,and sad to say along with the poor and down trodden Thai's, we are way way at the bottom of the pecking order for being judged to be "equal" in the eye's of the "law", it would appear you are judgeing Thai's by Western standards which in itself is a laugh a minute

Some idiots live there for years and never learn about it. Length of stay is hardly a determining factor as far as knowledge is concerned, is it ? I wasn't pissed out of my head all the time. I was made aware of Pattaya life by people who knew all about it. I will name only one and only because he is dead now. I was very friendly with Marc who co-owned the Welkom Inn with his ex-wife Madame Boo. There wasn't much he didn't know about Pattaya.

I still have friends who live in Pattaya and who have run businesses there for over twenty years. So, cut the smart chat and learn to realise that the people who presently live in Pattaya don't have the monopoly in the knowledge stakes.

I will not name my "powerful friends", Suffice to say that they are as powerful as anybody gets to be in Pattaya. So, work it out, Einstein !

I didn't realise that people were looking after me when I lived in Pattaya initially. It took three months before I found out.

A similar thing had happened to me when I was drinking as a young man in a rough South Wales Valleys town. A guy called Mike was always drinking in our company. He wasn't the brightest but he was nice enough and seemed to be a bit of a "gentle giant" Many years later I found out that he was the only guy the thugs and bullies in my town were truly frightened of. My incident free life was down to him but, at the time, I didn't realise that he was my guardian angel.
