Phuket Jet-Ski, Tuk-Tuk Groups Warned to Not Try Rip-Offs

Phuket Jet-Ski, Tuk-Tuk Groups Warned to Not Try Rip-Offs

PHUKET: The new Commander of Phuket Police, Major General Chote Chawanwiwat, has already talked with tuk-tuk and jet-ski operators and told them to make sure nothing they do interferes with tourism safety.

He also said in an interview that crackdowns would come soon on both weapons and drugs on Phuket.

''We have warned people in the lead-up to the high season for tourism that rip-offs will not be tolerated,'' he said.

All of Phuket's eight police station superintendents have been asked to provide Major General Chote with an outline of their plans for improving their protection of residents and visitors on Phuket by November 5.

''We aim to divide Phuket into a total of 21 zones to apply the lessons we've already learned from the Patong Safety Zone experiment,'' he said.

More checkpoints would also be employed by Phuket police, with greater frequency. All security cameras in the police network are to be monitored at a single, undisclosed location.

A representative group from Phuket's honorary consuls met with new Phuket Governor Maitree Inthusud. it's believed they have also informally introduced themselves to Major General Chote.

Lol. I'll believe it when there are stings, arrests, and heavy fines/jail given out.

They could fix the whole shitty system if the cops themselves did all of the jetski pimping and tuktuk dispatch.

when i understand that right, with the tuk-tuks, then they overcharge on fares?

wouldnt it be possible, to make - as it has been in europe practised, when no taxometer was in place - FIXED PRICES...

so, there is a map of phuket, with streets, and its divided into sectors..
within one sector its costs xy,
across one sector it costs ab,
two sectors (or from sector 1 to neighbouring sector 5) it costs mn..

    no possible?

    where is that list from?

looks fine, if the last digit was removed...

most likely its just what they did, to keep things simple - of course...
foreigners pay all digits, the locals the price without the last one...?

since when is the price for taxis and tuk-tuk the same?
is it the metered taxi prices?
