Ritzy Jomtien Condos Reflecting Badly On Builder

Ritzy Jomtien Condos Reflecting Badly On Builder

The Pattaya provincial court has ordered a halt to the luxury Reflection condominium project on Jomtien Beach Road. The two high-rise towers under construction have created excess dust, noise, and deafening pile-driving that cracked nearby building walls and roads, neighboring businesses complained.

PATTAYA – October 27, 2012 [PDN]; a reporter received a complaint about inconsiderate builders of a luxury Jomtien Beach condominium project. Making the complaint was Ms. Surassawadee Saejeang, the secretary of Mr. Bandit Siritanyong, the chairman of administration committee of Saladaeng group, and also representing its neighbor, the Suttangrak restaurant on Jomtien Beach.

The inconsiderate builders of the Reflection project are not following standard construction practices to alleviate disruption to neighbors, she said.

There has been no water spraying to clean the dust on the ground. Also, the construction has proceeded well into the night, with loud noise from the site disturbing people and making so much trouble for people in the area.

The thunderous drilling of foundation piles has also caused the wall of the restaurant building to collapse, and created cracks in the roads, she said.

The reporter went to check out her complaints, and found that the construction was overseen by Major Development Co., Ltd. which is constructing the ground base of the building.

He also discovered that while constructing the high rises, workers had inadvertently dropped construction equipment and pieces of concrete that fell on the adjacent property of people that lived nearby.

Ms. Surassawadee said that Suttangrak Co., Ltd. had sued this construction company in Pattaya Civil Court. They had submitted a complaint to the court to order that Major Development Co., Ltd. halt construction until their complaints were resolved.

The Pattaya provincial court made the first warning to this company on October 19, 2012. But a few days later, the company continued to resume constructing the towers without addressing the complaints.

So on October 26, the Pattaya provincial court commanded the builders to stop constructing indefinitely due to their subpar construction practices.

The judge also warned that if the builders violate the court’s order for the third time, the Pattaya provincial court will issue the arrest warrant to arrest the builders and prosecute them according to the law.

Wait. You have to be considerate to your neighbors? Even when engaging in business ventures? That's news to me.
