Seems the BiB are taking heed of my earlier comments in another thread. Surely it will be only a matter of time before they grasp the fact that the subject of a "hard" arrest tends to remember the experience that much more and will move onto pastures new.

The demographic of Pattaya is indeed changing. The incidence of tourist couples with or without children seems to be increasing daily whereas the younger European whoremonger is rapidly becoming an extinct species. Chinese, Taiwanese, Koreans and Indians are everywhere, rivalling the Russians in numbers and discounting the Indian chaps who evidently return to Pattaya without their wives they are unlikely to sustain the erstwhile whoremongering market.

Once they push back the beer bars beyond second road, either by policy or through the force of economics, the neigbourhood will continue to improve immeasurably.

Then you say incidents involving tourists is up, not down.

A periodic stop, search and identify policy aimed at foreigners in Pattaya might do more good at clearing shit out out of the place.

If enhanced with a policy of cross checking expats who stay more than 90 days in Thailand in any two year period against their home country police records might also help get rid of some scum.

And there's no reason why this should be reserved for Pattaya.
