This one gets rattled around a fair bit, and I am by no means an expert on this - but I have a nasty feeling that being named as the father on the birth certificate does not necessarily mean that you are legally considered the father. On this particular case, I have nothing but sympathy and best wishes for the father. yes, he messed up, yes he got rolled by an obviously conniving family - but here is the thing - he is trying to take responsibility for the consequences of his bad judgement (i.e. the son). We can ALL screw up royally sometimes, but stepping up to the plate, taking responsibility and trying to provide for the boy marks him as a fool, but an honourable one. far, far too many farangs would, or have -walked away.

and he has to be divorced, thats important, for legal reasons, and maybe or even most likely, he wants to be remarried in germany again in some time...

he can start-over in germany, but not with that stupid child and not while married in thailand...

the boy is same as them...better leave him back... sorry... jmho...
