Chonburi police arrested an English teacher, British nationality, a ya-ice dealer. The suspect was arrested in a rental room in Pattaya
PATTAYA – April 22, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Capt. Suphan Jaiharn, Pattaya police and detectives arrested Mr. Steven Palmer age 42, British national working as an English teacher at famous school, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi.
The police nabbed Mr. Steven Palmer in an undercover operation where ya-ice worth 4,000 THB were supposed to change hands.
The appointment was made in front of the rental room of Mr. Palmer who was arrested with ya-ice contained in a clear plastic bags: weight 17.35 g and three smaller bags weight 0.53g, 1.53g and 1.33g altogether 20.56 g.
The police then searched Mr.Steven’s room # 4, on the 3rd floor of the no name rental room in Soi Bua Khao, central Pattaya, Banglamung and found all of the drugs hidden in a lady’s make up box. The police also found a digital scale and various drug paraphernalia in the room.
Pol. Capt. Suphan Jaiharn, Deputy Inspector said that he knew that Mr. Steven Palmer was an English teacher at Singsamut school and was selling ya-ice to customers in Pattaya.
Mr. Steven Palmer confessed that he teaches English at famous school but during school holidays he didn’t teach and stayed in a house that he had bought in Pattaya.
He bought the ya-ice from a friend in Bangkok, at first he bought only for personal use but later he ran out of money so he had to sell the house and move to a rental room and Mr.Steven started selling ya-ice to beer-bar prostitutes and tourists in Pattaya.
Mr.Steven is charged with sales and consumption of crystal methamphetamine.
He has been detained at Pattaya police station and will to be prosecuted according to the Thai law.
