So long as the photos are a good likeness to the one in the passport then you don't.

You should probably sign and date the reverse of them yourself though. It can't hurt.

The whole sending your credit card details on a form that they can withdraw when they process, 'with no refund' part could.

I agree. For things like that I would never send my credit card details. I would use a company such as entropay and use a virtual credit card that has been charged up to the correct amount to cover the cost. https://www.entropay.com/virtual-visa.php

I think they will add them years onto your new passport.

Maybe you should opt for the 48 page passport

I was thinking about that originally, but I mainly filled up the passport between 2003 & 2007, I've only used it a few times since then.

It would be nice if they could still add pages in.

I seem to remember DD saying in another thread, that they could add a maximum of 9 months not matter how 'in date' your passport is.

    ^^

You do not have to wait until your old passport expires to apply to renew it. If there is any time left on your old passport, IPS will add it to your new passport, up to maximum of nine months. You can renew your passport whenever you wish, but IPS cannot carry over more than nine months from your old passport to your new one.

Who can apply to renew an adult passport and when : Directgov - Travel and transport

Saying that, this is for applying in the UK

^There was 6 years left on my passport - they added 9 months!
Dont sign pictures, there is a note somewhere that one picture has to have no signature, also make sure the pictures are to specification, Kodak shops in Thailand know what is required they have a book of different photo types/sizes and backgrounds they will show you...
You cant add pages to a British PP.
There was no problem giving them a credit card - 256 USD for 48 page PP! plus postage another 980 Baht.

If they added the years owed my next passport would be valid for around 30 years quite often filled a passport in 4 years in my younger days.

When you pass the immigration, show your two passports together, the old one with the visa and the new one. It's no problem, I do it all the time. Actually, when I change my passport, the consulate gives me back the old passport because of the visas, otherwise they would keep it and destroy it. No need to staple them together, just show them together it's good enough

Does anyone know of where I can get my photograph taken?

Last time I applied for a new passport ( Five years ago) My photo got rejected twice and I could see nothing wrong with them.

I need to send my application off tomorrow.

    Cheers, DsD.

Just get the exact sizes and make sure that you have the right colored background that they want. Then you should be able to go to any photo place. I always use the ones downstairs at Thai immigration.

If it keeps getting rejected then maybe you need to try here.

Well I got lucky again today!

Went to renew my work permit and 1 year visa stamp today. My visa actually ran out 2 days ago which was Monday but I think they were closed then anyway.

They said that they couldn't renew my work permit because my visa was out of date and they couldn't give me a new 1 year visa because my work permit needed renewing. Lol.

So they gave me a one week stamp so that I can renew my work permit and said that I can go back next week and get a 1 year visa stamp.

The only problem was that the 1 week stamp that they put in my passport took up the very last 1/3rd of a page that I had left in my passport. I called the British Embassy and THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE!!!!!!!! That's the first time that has happened to me.

I asked could I get special permission to get my stamp put on the very back page that's saved for 'observation purposes only' and they said no, but if I sent a nice letter along with my application to Hong Kong that they could get me a new one within the week for special circumstances.

So back to the desk at immigration to let them know the situation. I was looking at the very first page in my passport that used to have stamps on it but is now a blurry ink mess from when I was caught out in a rain storm one day. I thought it was worth a try so I asked if next week my 1 year stamp could go there?

They passed it round and all agreed "No cannot put there" so I put on a cartoony voice like I was talking to a baby and said "Not even for a box of Cwispy Cweams!" And they all started laughing and finally agreed that my 1yr stamp can go there. Result!

I've squeezed every last drop out of this passport so now I really have to get a new one after all this is sorted out. And I'd better send over a box a Crispy Cremes just in case they thought I was being serious.

No, it's in Chaeng Wattana now. I prefer it there. It's bigger with more staff and there's loads of parking and the expressway goes almost straight there.

It's a lot quicker inside too. I only joined in at the point where they gave me the 1 week stamp. I got there at 1pm and was on the way home by 1.40pm.

maybe you should try thinking ahead a bit

when you have two pages left, get a new passport

or would that be too confusing?

I think it all worked out fine. I hardly ever use the thing and I got the maximum space out of all the pages.
