A week extension at Imm. Dept?

    Hi,

Got a 30 day stamp on arrival.

Can I walk in to Immigration dept in BKK next week, pay 1900 and get a week/15 days more??
A friend told me this, if so it's news to me. I thought this was only possible for visa holders.

    Thanks for any input...

If you came in on a visa exemption stamp then you can get a 10 day extension.

That info was dated May 2010
I don't think the rules have changed since then

If you have over 21 days left on your permission to stay stamp then it is possible to change to a Non Imm O providing you fulfill all the requirements and have the paperwork

    ^Thanks.

Never heard the term "visa exemption stamp" before. Guess that's the proper term..
PP is Finland. Always get 30 days on arrival.

Sorry, I didn't word it carefully.

You are entitled to visa exemption.
You get a "Permission to Stay" stamp which is valid for 30 days if you arrive at an airport.
    You don't get a visa.

I could apply for 7 days, and got 7 days.
