Non Imm 'O' - Supported by Thai wife

I see that there are 2 options for a Non Imm 'O' Visa; To support Thai wife & To be supported from Thai husband.

Why isn't there a 'To be supported from Thai wife'?

Is it due to the institutionalised racism here or just that 'spouse' was mistranslated as 'wife' & 'husband' respectively?

The 400K in the Bank / 40K a Month income can be in either name, before I got my PR just used the wife's salary advice slips as proof of income no problem.

^ I guess it was just an assumption on the part of the translator then.

More likely an assumption of the "Stereotype".

AFAIK the same still applies today that applied 4 years ago when i last did it. The 400K / 40K Month or sums thereof such as 150K Bank 25K Month Income is applicable to the married couples joint savings and income and not specific to an individual.

I believe that is wrong. The money has to be coming from the farang only.

I think the rules were changed recently and the income and bank balance now has to be in the farang name only

If that is the case, what about "To be supported from a Thai husband"?

It seems to me that the male has to provide the income, not the Thai. I guess women don't have much earning potential here..?

As I understand the immigration rules do require the husband to be earning this money and the wife incomes does not count; Whilst I find this annoying; I do get satisfaction that it is in fragrant violation of current and recent constitutions which confirms my prejudice that these precious constitutions are nothing more than toilet paper that does not wipe very well.

I would expect that a challenge to the administration courts would succeeded; could anyone be bothered.

Not institutionalised racism but certainly typical male chauvinism or sexism.
