    Visa tidbits

Well it seems somebody in Pattaya is doing dodgy visa runs agains, should imagine they will be in the news tomorrow, or their arrest will, the old send your passport on a visa run fun and games.

Yesterday an Australian from Jomtien went to Pong Nam Ron, went to the Ban Laem Daung border crossing, as he tried to leave Thailand for Cambodia the Thai immigration noticed something strange about his last Malaysia stamp, turns out he used a Pattaya agency that has had stamps made up, only problem is they are slightly bigger so they got noticed, forged documents is quite a serious offence in Thailand

Another little titbit from Laos, 3 tourist visas and then no more, they can be double entry visas, single entry visas, your choice but only 3 of the beasties, then you wont get another one and you get a lovely little red stamp telling you not to go back to Vientiane for a visa because you are farang scum, well, something along those lines, it is red anyway

So since when has it become clear.

I just say coz I had lunch with a lad yesterday who just got back who got his 4th double entry Tourist Visa in a row without any hassle. Think he said that out of 11 in the group 3 got the red stamp - as well as the visa. No one was denied the visa, they all got one... just 3 outta 11 got a stamp saying that they 'mightn't' get another one next time of asking.

Unless things have changed in the past 24 hrs.

direct quote from a guy on another website who also has it scanned in and up as a picture:

"The holder has travelled to Thailand with Tourist Visa 9 times. The Embassy may not accept the application next time"

With the "9 times" being the amount of past 'entries' (double, tripple), not actual TVs.

"May not" doesn't sound very clear to me. Anyways, tough titties I reckon, These folks deserve this kind of hassle because they cant be arsed to get a proper visa like a non-O like normal people do.

Wonder if this applies to Laos citizens. My GF has been on tourist visas for 15 odd years.

The BIL went to Ban Laem yesterday for a visa run...

The Cambodian office had over one meter water, all area flooded !

Suddenly lots of snakes arrived swimming in the floods...They killed eventually more then 5 approaching them and there were lots all around, mostly cobras...

    Risky visa run!

Closure of Kap Choeng Immigration office

Can now do the 90 day renewals at the Chon Jom border crossing. They have a small office there to the right of the queue lines at Thai immigration. Look for the smoked glass door. Open Mon to Friday. On my visit there yesterday picked up a sort of map of the new Khorat office. It is on route 24 and going westward on this dual carriageway(towards Bangkok) it can be found one km past the 24/224 junction, on the left hand side nestling between a Toyota showroom and a PTT gas station. Tel no 044-492903 - 4

In my world they can come over the border and smoke me banana if they want me to come to Thailand.

If you see a guy on the border being ignored with his pants down you will know who it is.

And build higher bridges for the Thai visa runners.

Although he could be Thai or Cambodian.

Making some elavated walkways at Ban Laem.

Don't see cars like this in your home country.

Welcome all ye swimmers to Ban Laem Thailand.

From Daung in Cambodia looking across to Thailand.

If only the little rickety old wooden bridge had washed away, what a photo opportunity

    Welcome to Thailand.

    Good photos DD.

Impressed that the bridge is holding up, I always thought it felt a bit rickety when we walked across, and not fancying a dip in the shitty klong running under it, I guess that has been thoroughly flushed out now.
