    90 Day Reporting

Due to the slow down I have not been travelling as much this year . I hold a Work Permit and will be leaving the country 92 Days after my last entry into LOS.
Does the 90 Day reporting rule apply to work permit holders? I asked 4 people yesterday - Answer : 2 yes 2 no.

I checked the Thai Immigration Website and it tells you how to do it, but not who needs to do it.

    TIA , TP

Yes it does. You should be okay, the worst would be a fine at the airport but I doubt they would catch that.

I've yet to comply with 90 reporting. It's a separate paper your local immigration staples to your passport. It's only kept track of locally, handwritten in a logbook. During the past year I've switching my visas around and they'd staple the stupid report request in my passport. I remove it and throw it away. Then there's nothing in your passport drawing attention to issue. To legally exit the country you only need the departure card and the appropriate visa validity.
I have another friend whose been here for several years never leaving the country. Just renews her retirement every year. Has never reported either.
It's bad enough they don't issue 3-5 year visas, but 90 day reporting is absurd IMHO!

90 day reporting requirement, short term visas, exit permits and all the other immigration hoops we must jump through keep scores of people employed. It is unlikely to ever change.

Me too, as I have always been travelling. I am going to play safe and report before I leave. I am going on Holiday and the last thing I need to start it off with a B2000 Fine, or for that matter start another thread on the "ugly farang at immigration" !!!!

If this isn’t in the right thread, maybe someone could move it. I went the office where I have been going for the past couple of years, here in Bangkok to file my 90 day reporting requirements, but they moved. Fvck!

But they moved to a nicer building and it only takes about 10 minuets to get in and out of their office when doing your 90 day reporting. However their new offices are not close to any sky-train or subway.

    Thai Immigration Bureau Office Relocation
The Thai Immigration Bureau Office presently situated at: Soi Suanphlu, Sathorn, Bangkok.
Will be relocating from Monday 28 September 2009 to:

    Immigration Division 1
    Bangkok Government Center
    Building B
    120 Tungsonghong Sub District
    Laksi District
    Chaengwattana Road, Soi 7

Visa Issuing, Visa Extensions, Visa Replacements, Changing of Visa Type, Resident Permits, Resident Certificates, Alien Registration and compliance with the 90 day reporting requirement will now have to go to the new office on Chaengwattana Road, this is located near Don Muang airport, about 35km from downtown Bangkok.

Further information can be found at the :: Immigration Bureau Thailand :: Call Center 1178 or 02 141 9889

    Thai Efficiency at Korat Office

Hi, With a title like "Thai Efficiency at Korat Office" bet you thought I was going to be sarcastic! But on my visit yesterday it was all positive and friendly.

Noting my 90 day renewal took 2 minutes, after a wait of 3 or 4 minutes.

The new office is further from Korat, but an easy drive through Dan Kwien. Everyone is in neat Tourist Police shirts, and even the senior guys are busy! It is really no trouble.

It's certainly easier and less arduous than renewing a teacher's work permit, that needed several copies of many, many documents and cost 8,000 baht ... once a year.

Biggest ploplems I've had with 90-day at Jomtien is remembering to go, and taking a pen along.

Nan immigration insist on seeing a current 90day report before issuing an extension so you have no choice here

If I recall correctly, the GPS coordinates are: N13°52.789’ E100°33.876’. The office sets back about 300 meters from the Thai Passport Office on Chang Wattana out in Laksi area.

You can also do the 90 day report at the One Stop Service Center, even if you did not get the exstention there. Now located at Chamchuri Square with the Sam Yan MRT station in the basement.

I find the staff at Mapthaphut Immigration Office, both extremely courteous and efficient, certainly an example to some other Thai Government Offices!
