    Certified translation

    Hello all,
I have another visa question I’m sure someone here knows the answer to. I need to have my marriage license and US passport translated for a proof of marriage at the local office here in Bantak. Can I use an online certified translation? I found a place in Bangkok that does it all online in a day or two and sends it back via email.

    thanks for any input, mike

Go to the 'the local office here in Bantak', preferably speaking to the IO in charge of extensions and get the information from them.

Australia are very pedantic about this sort of thing, however online certified translation was no problem, I would expect US to be the same.

Thanks, I should have been clearer. It’s the local Bantak district office asking for the translation.

I had a similar request some years, ago, although it was for a previous UK marriage divorce document.

I spoke to a Bangkok translation service who performed the task, but I believe it was sent to the Thai government department to be checked and stamped. Returned and then accepted by my local immigration office. I sent the papers by post and received them all back via post, paying the translation company by bank transfer.

An additional cost for the coloured stamps ..... and a couple of days extra to wait.

Check with your TIO if the original Thai government stamped, translation documen is required or a copy is acceptable.
