    Info about Non-immigrant O visa

Could anyone let me know what is required for the invitation letter from Thai family for the Non-immigrant O visa for someone with family in Thailand.

It is my last step and I'm unsure what they expect.

    Thanks for any info

Mike, pre-Covid I stayed in Thailand for many years on multiple entry Non Os based on marriage to a Thai spouse, usually from the Thai embassy in Singapore.

This is the letter I submitted each year. I believe your wife is already in Thailand with the dog? I would get her to sign a prepared letter in blue ink and then scan and send back to you. I believe the Thai writing at the bottom of the letter is a standard phrase saying that it's a truthful document. If not it's my wife's signature and it means I blanked out the wrong bit!

    Hope this helps.

The last entry I had was non-immigrant O to stay with my wife (who was with me and traveling on the same flight) from the Los Angeles consulate. At that time a marriage certificate was all the evidence they required and that is what shows on their website:
NON - O (Family member) - Royal Thai Consulate-General, Los Angeles

    Every place is different.

Mendip's letter would do the trick anywhere, I reckon.

^ Yeah, I've always found it strange that each embassy/consulate has different requirements.

I've also had Non Os issued from Perth (WA) and the consulate in Cardiff (UK) and there was no requirement for a letter from either. It's a moot point for me now as the multiple entry Non O (based on marriage) seems to be a thing of the past. Singapore and Oslo embassies no longer offer them... this maybe just during Covid but I have my doubts they will be offered again.

Mendip that must have been a while ago you got it in Perth. I got a visa issued there in 2017/18 and they required a letter from the Missus.

I just got her to write something like this, can't remember exactly.

    To whom it concerns,
I (her name inserted here) have invited my husband (my name here) to visit me at our home at (insert Thai address) Thailand.

    Yours faithfully,
    (wife's signature)
    Wife's Thai ID number

    Thanks for all the replies.

I will go with Mendip's letter format.

I think this question has always been on the visa form from the Thai embassy in DC but wasn't an issue for my tourist visa.

    thanks
